I created a listing during the 1 cent gallery week. I went to revise ONLY THE WORDS IN THE DESCRIPTION and now it wants to charge me an extra 24 cents for gallery!!! I went through it a few times without going through with the revision. I SAW the 1 cent listing fee in the revision but when I got to the summary, it showed an addtional 24 cents.

Do you think it's going to charge me full price for just revising the description and not changing anything else????

Probably so. They're trying to prevent sellers from listing a bunch of empty auctions during the final hours of the promotion and filling in the spaces later. You can probably expect to see the same thing during the next free listing day. Some sellers list a few hundred auctions on FLD with no pics or descriptions. They then go in and "revise" them after FLD ends and insert descriptions and photos.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Leave it to ebay! What do they care if sellers put up blank auctions. they still get their money! Little sellers like me change two words and get charged!!!! Not fair

Don't blame eBay... blame the scum sucking sellers that practice that deception.

there you go twelvepole, hitting the nail on the head again.

if sellers can't play fair, then don't play.

I understand wanting to save money on fees but did they ever think of setting up a bunch of extra auctions, such as items that did not previously sell, and hold them for fld or penny gallery day.

I dont understand. Maybe I am just really dense. If a seller puts up a blank auction and fills it in later, what does it matter? The seller is still putting up an auction. Who cares when he fills it in? I know I am probably missing something.

I know it looks stupid for someone to put up 500 blank auctions but who does it hurt. It is just as bad as someone getting a prime location at a flea market and only putting up a table with nothing on it. So what? people go by and see this guy has nothing to sell. He still had to pay his fees. Just makes him look stupid.

Paloma,

Are we talking about many auctions or one?

If you're talking about 1 auction how much time and effort are you willing to go to in order to recover 24 cents.

Unless you're living in Somalia a 24 cent loss shouldn't throw your budget off too far.

It hurts legitimate sellers trying to put up legitimate auctions, because some idiot is using up server space and bandwidth posting nothing.

For me it would be 24 cents. Use the eBay web form and notify eBay and I'm sure they'll refund you the 24 cents.

I wish my wife was as frugal.

Just wondering... did anyone else do the same thing as paolma91 (list an auction during the Penny Gallery week, make a revision and then get charged the extra 24 cents)? I'm just wondering if it just happened to her or if other people experienced the same thing?
