I acquired this pin with some other things and need help dating it. The back says Bronze, MAC, New York. It's in its original box. The pin is about 3/4" high. It's made by the medallic art company. It's a 25 year service pin for the Pennsylvania Railroad and it has a screw backing.
My guess is the pin dates from the 1910's to the 1930's. There are several railroad service pins currently listed on ebay but yours looks to the older than any of them. Good luck with your railroad memorabilia.

Actually, I scanned these using an HP Scanjet ADF. Darn thing cost me $500 almost three years ago and it's already not being made anymore. Shamefully, I forgot to charge my camera batteries, which is a Kodak DC3400. Takes decent pics.

I also use my scanner for small stuff and books. I always buy the least or next-to-least expensive scanner as they are constantly dropping in price and increasing in quality. Your $500 scanner of 3 years ago is probably $100-$200 now and not near state of the art anymore.
I always use the AC adapter on the camera and never think about batteries.

The pin is bronze and was used for quite a long time , say the teens up to the end of PRR in 1968. They are fairly common for a RR service pin because the PRR was a BIG ( the biggest ) Railroad and ran in many states. These seem to sell for around 16-25.00 generally. Often on the 25 and 50 year ( 50 year pins are 14K and much more hard to find ) pins one can find the employee's name and years of service engraved on the back. Look at it as you would a coin as far as wear, this one looks a little "smoothed" on the front of the K-4 steam loco. That detracts from the value especially a common item such as this pin is. They are collectable and do sell but literally any other RR's service pin would be worth much more than a PRR.
