Recently when checking my Vendio statement, I found several auctions for which I was charged 10 cents for each picture (I often have 10-12 pictures per auction). I thought someone was stealing my pictures, but when I checked, I found that they were my auctions for "second chance", so I put a question on the Vendio board, and this is the reply that I got.
"A second chance listing is technically a relist. Each time your images appear in a new item number, if the new number did not originate from here, you are subject to image hosting fees. In this case, we cannot submit second chance listings, so doing so via eBay is the only way. In those cases you pay image hosting fees, rather than the listing and final value fee."
I am certainly not willing to pay an extra $1, to $1.20 for second chance. Did anyone else know that this is what happens?

Is that what happens when we "update our listings"?

no, I did not realize this happened but checked my account. I have only done one Second Chance auction but the charges were there for the pictures.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

neglus: not sure if we are charged when updating listing. I have to confess that I rarely check my account. I have done about 15 second chances, and have had high charges, especially since only about 3 of them were accepted. The only way around it that I can see if you have a lot of pictures like me, is to contact the second bidder, and if they want it, just list again with a BIN.

How can you contact the second bidder? If the second bidder happens to have some auctions running you can use the "Ask the Seller A Question" function or if their ebay ID is an email address but other than that I don't see how to contact them.

can't you just click on an ebay members Id to get the ask a seller a question form?

http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MemberSearchShow

the last box to fill out before submit says this:

Item number of the item you are trading with the above member

I don't think the other bidders qualifies

You can get all the e-mail addresses of your bidders while the auction is still running. Once the auction closes I think you are out of luck.

You can also click on a members name and it will take you to the contact a member page. From there you can contact them via the ebay e-mail system.
