I have a couple of user ID's that I had registered 1 and 2 years ago. Never bought or sold anything with them. I was saving them for future use. In the meantime I occassionally had used them for asking questions when I didn't want it known who the real "asker" was. I hadn't used either User for 6 months. Now I find today that they are gone. What happened?

probably cleaned up their databases and determined not enough use and deleted them to make space for actual users.

I just checked some of mine that have had no activity and they have been registered for several years and they are all still there.
If ebay was cleaning the database you would think they'd get rid of all those NARU ones from years ago.
The only other thing I can think of is if the user names were nasty or if your account was hijacked and then someone changed the name afterwards.

if someone hijacked your old user id,and then change it to something else, then your old user id could be gone for GOOD.
by the way,how do they manage to hijack other people's id??

My friend said his old ID's are all there also and he said he hasn't used them for a few years.
Did you cause any auction interference using these ones? Maybe ebay thought you were a problem and just zapped them.
Otherwise perhaps write ebay and ask them why and then you will know for sure.
stopwhining, the only way I know that an account can be hijacked is if you click on a link in a spoof e-mail from ebay and fill in the info. But some people swear they never did that and it's happened to them anyways.

someone said they know someone who knows the password and give them the password so they can hijack the user id.
or they have been going to KINKO

Makes sense. A couple of mine have invalid e-mails so I guess they haven't caught up to me yet. I don't use those names anymore so won't miss them.

Did you change the user ID's a while back and forget. For a short period after changing your user ID, you can still type in the old ID to find the new ID name. But after a short period (I forget the time frame but I think it is a couple of months) if you type in your old ID, it won't show as a good ID. Try typing your e-mail address and see if they come up that way.

The mystery is solved. Stonecold was right. I changed the User ID's and forgot. Found them. 1 intact. 1 has been suspended. Not sure why. The e-mail explaining the suspension has been deleted. May have placed 1 bid and retracted it. Thank you all
