I cant seem to find the final value of listing a car on ebay. Its $40 to list - whats the final value fee?

I have only sold small things until now. My brother wants me to sell his car.

I'm glad you asked this question, I was about to ask myself.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

There is no FVF, just the $40 listing fee ( 10 day duration is no extra charge )

If you host your pictures on Vendio, go through the Legacy listing port and pay only a dime a pic with no FVF to them either.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I'm a little confused with that last post. The original poster asked what the FVF fees were on cars on ebay Motors.

The answer is that there are no FVF -FinalValueFees on cars sold on ebay Motors, just the hefty $40 listing fee ( with the 10 day duration option being free )

It is easy as this,$40.00 to,list & $40.00 to sell. You can sell a car, boat, airplane or waverunner for $40.00 + $40.00.l That is it!!!

As usual, auctiondunce you are wrong. It is $40 dollars to list a car and $40 FVF if it sells. If you actually sold anything of value, you would know this.

40 bucks to list plus 40 buck transaction fee plus picture hosting and other incidental expenses equals about 90 bucks to sell a car on eBay.

I should add that if it gets one bid and does not sell it will still cost you $80 + listing fees.
Here is my recomendation on selling cars on eBay. Great place to sell sports, classic, antique, special interest, or luxury cars. May not be such a good place to peddle the high milage family sedan. Car shoppers on eBay are looking for something special or a deal. I usually recommend people advertise locally before spending the money on an eBay listing. Not Just running my chops and would never claim any sort of expertise. Cars are my thing and I've bought and sold lots of them I even made money on a few!

i agree,90 dollars is nothing if you are selling luxury cars.

That's what I thought but apparently there is another $40 transaction fee if your car gets a bid ( beyond any reserve ).
So, it is $80 to actually sell a car on ebay.

-------------

Vehicles
eBay does not charge a Final Value Fee at the close of Vehicle listings on eBay. Instead, eBay charges a Transaction Services Fee at the time of the first bid on your listing (or if you set a reserve price, at the time of the first bid over that reserve). For Passenger Vehicles and Other Vehicles, the Transaction Services Fee is $40. For Motorcycles, the Transaction Services Fee is $25.

You will not be charged a Transaction Services Fee if:
there were no bids on your item
there were no bids that met the reserve price on your reserve price auction
But otherwise you will be charged a Transaction Services Fee whether or not you carry out the sale with the buyer.
