I hope this is my last question on this subject AND that it's understandable.
I now have monkeyed enough with my preferences, trying to understand all the recent changes about pictures.
I launched two auctions tonight just to see how it's working. My chosen picture (not the first one!) is showing in the thumbnail on the search page; my chosen picture is also showing up in the Gallery.
But there is no picture at the top of my auction. I checked my preferences, and I'd checked the option to leave that space blank because of advice given.
What would happen if I uncheck that? Will that mess with all my photo preferences? Or will the picture at the top of my auction be the same as the thumbnail and gallery pix?

If I understand correctly the explanation given in the image hosting forum, your picture at the top of the listing will be the first one attached to the auction (if you have that option checked in preferences). The gallery picture will be whatever you select from the image list at the time of listing. The pix are now coming from Vendio, and not Ipix. This is a very recent change that Vendio was able to work out with Ebay.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Sparkz: And the thumbnail on the big search page will ALSO still be my gallery picture?
I guess I just need reassurance that choosing that picture for the top of my auction page won't mess up the thumbnail and gallery pix.
By the way, thanks for all your help!

Roadsmith...As far as I know, the gallery picture and the thumbnail that shows up on search will be the same. You might want to test it on one listing, just to make sure there hasn't been another unannounced change.
