Gotta just LOVE them newbie buyers, that
#1... they don't or can't READ the PLAIN English in an auction listing.
#2 they never ask any questions before bidding. Then do alot of assuming.
#3...They make a mistake as a result from NOT reading the auction listing, and for NOT reading the email I send at auctions end.
#4....Day 4,They send an email and do not get a reply with in 5 min's they freak out !!!!! sent 2 payments/but didn't, and thinks they OVER paid as they should get "free shipping" which they don't.
#5 ..Day 4 ....15 min's later and they are freaking out.... they leave me a NEG !!!!!!!
Complaint : they are not very easy to deal with, very diffacult to resolve problems.
#6 ....It is easier to blame the seller
Now I know why I took the summer off. I have been back selling for a week and I get this..... {shaking head }
Think I'll take the weekend off.

How about this buyer. I listed a knitting book, under "knitting patterns" of course. Title began "BOOK.... etc" Description began "Auction is for a book of ...". At the end I put "Book is in good condition". I pictured the 5 heavy jackets in the book. Buyer wins the auction, and sends an email "Do I just get one jacket for the $3.99 or all 5?" I explain that it is a book, and all the patterns for all jackets are in it. I get a reply "Well then, I would like one of each in a size 42" I explain again, the auction is for a book. Get another reply, "Well, if I can only have one I will take #3" At that stage I am tearing my hair. I copy out the title and description, and highlight the word BOOK. I finally get through, but the reply is "but I can't knit!!" At that stage I think the easiest thing is to forget the whole thing? I just can't stand the hassle!!

LOLOL amber! I think I have had that same buyer!
I try so hard to be nice, realizing that we all start at 0 and work up...but geez! Some of these people make you wonder how they have made it this far in life!
wrights - you deserve the weekend off!
I am trying to get unpacked in a new house, while continuing to eBay. I usually do "buy it now"s, but didn't this past week to give me a break to get these mountains of boxes unpacked...and have been bombarded with emails from regular buyers wanting to know just why I'm not running the BIN! A few actually demanded that I add a BIN price to some of my auctions! I didn't

Amber that was great. One thing you did get a response not like many of us.
I found tos this in an auction tonight. I wonder if it works. You could put any number you wanted.
"With the increasing problems with new bidders that have less than 10 feedbacks, we are going to have to ask those of you with less than 10 feedbacks to email us first before bidding. We regret having to do this, but too many people do not follow eBay rules and it wastes our time & money. A few bad apples out there have ruined it for the good bidders."

For the other side I have had a bunch of newbie bidders during the last month and have not had a problem with any of them. It's just the luck of the draw I think.

Capo, I have to say too, I've had a few newbies (if they are really newbies) but they've been really nice to transact with it.
Did have one newbie who said her husband works for the post office when I sent a payment reminder. (Like, if your husband works for the post office surely you or he knows how to mail a MO properly?? hahah!) I really didnt follow that excuse, but I guess it sounded good to her!

lol...I could go on for days about "newbies"-I agree with most of "y'all" too....we even have a scrolling "marquee" that says....
"PLEASE READ TOS BEFORE BIDDING".......but many just don't...oh well..guess it's the price of doin biz on the net...it takes all kinds...and you get all kinds....
Oddly enough though...I'd reckon that 85-90% of our International customers DO take the time to read the TOS and are quite patient and professional. Must be us impatient Americans...spoiled....lol

ROTFLMAO amber! omg that is too much!
you should have finally said, 'ok I'll knit #3 for you, for $500. plus shipping of course, and it will take xx months to be done'
wow that is bad.
I think a lot of bidders just look at pictures. I had one, and put in the descripiton that there is a 'dent' and even closed in on it, and took a picture, had 3 pictures.. she paid right away, and commented that she was so happy to find a PERFECT set of these..... arghhhh... not sure what to do.... well I know... I am going to print out the auction and highlight the 'there is a dent here' part.

I listed under VHS with two pictures of the sleeve a Power Rider Excersise video for $3.99 fixed price. Newbie does Buy It Now.
Guy emails and says I will be going through your area in 6 weeks can I pick it up.
I find this a little strange to go through all that trouble for a video so I emailed him back and told him it was only $1.42 to mail it and it would be there in 5-7 days.
He emails me back - I though I was buying a Power Rider.
