Anyone know what has happened to www.google.com ? I use their search to find out about a lot of my items for eBay and they have been down for a day at least. Yahoo search is also down so maybe they are the same company??

I just tried it. You are correct. Auctions that googled a few days ago don't anymore. Interesting.

I wonder if it has to do with the VeriSign mess.

I agree that Google works for everything except auctions. Nothing eBay comes up on the first page anymore. Even when you search eBay XXXX.

I know it did last week because I was looking for more information on something I had listed and my auction was the first thing Google showed. Now it doesn't show it any where..

are you referring to specific ebay aution listing??
ebay auction last 7-10 days .
does it make sense for any search engine to crawl a site with millions of items expiring in 7-10 days??
once a site is registered with a search engine,it sends crawlers out periodically to pick up new items, say once per month, some at the first day of the month.
it would be fruitless to come and pick up items from ebay if it is not going to be around for too long.

I thought that only people that bought into 'google adwords' get to have their auction items show up at google search engine ... yes? no?

and by the way ... if froogle is part of google, would be nice if google.com would make link to froogle or even MENTION it ... jeesh

My problem I can not get to Google at all. I can get any other place on the web but not to www.google.com . I have tried everything including another browser and still can not get there. I downloaded the Google toolbar 4 days ago and it was working great for a couple of days then I tried to put in an item to search and it did not search. In the last 2 days I have tried everything I can think of clear cache, change browser, took out the toolbar, tried going to it with a bookmark, and tried www.google.com typed in, rebooted, etc. Any ideas???
I get "There is no website configured at this address".

It's working fine, I have a google search field built into my browser, tried that, and also went to the normal address. no problems. it's probably your toolbar.

Either your IP is blocked by Google, or you're being redirected by a file such as hosts.

I will not get into specifics on that.

You can try to to Google through:

Thanks gousainc your link got me there. I bookmarked it and now I can get in through my bookmark. I don't know what caused it but I figured it must have had something to do with the Google toolbar because I have never had a problem untill I got it. Thanks again.

but then comes ebay store,i have seen ebay store items showing up in searches.

Not just ebay stores but ebay itself. A LOT of google searches put the search criteria directly into the ebay search engine and post the results.

example : the three words - swan packard ornament

The second search selection says

1927 -1928 MARMON EAGLE -VERY GOOD CONDITION
... HOOD ORNAMENT NICE 1951 Desoto Hood Ornament 1941 Plymouth Hood Ornament Greyhound
hood ornament from the 1920's Packard Swan Hood Ornament RARE Mcfarlan ...
www.dancestor.com/ 1927_1928_MARMON_EAGLE_VERY_GOOD_CONDITION_2422.html - 16k - Cached - Similar pages

yet it goes right into the ebay search engine
