first one is japanese design,if it is old,then it is made in japan.if it is new,then it could be made in china.
second one,i dunno??

The first one appears to be transfer decorated? Just a statement based on the missing decoration at the bottom and the uneveness of the bottom decoration as well. Could be anywhere from turn of the century to the 1960's. Hard to tell from a photo.
The second photo is a mystery to me. Looks like crackle glaze? Strange decoration. The top floral decoration could place it in the oriental category, but I've never seen a cherub like that on an oriental piece.
Try www.gotheborg.com Sign up for their board and post the pictures. I can tell you that the answers aren't always accurate. I had them date a piece of mine to the turn of the century when it turns out it's actually mid 19th century. You have to read all the opinions and make a judgement call.

Cheryl; I agree with you on the first piece. It appears to be Japanese transfer ware, but there is no backstamp designating origin. The second one is a mystery to me too.

I've sold several Asian pieces, small pottery things like vases, in the collectibles/cultures/Asian category. You might try that.
