I have a very nice bangle that I purchased in England about 25 years ago, that is now too small for my wrist. It is marked 1/5 9kt rolled gold. Can anyone tell me just what that means, how to describe it, what kind of value etc?

About Rolled Gold

Rolled Gold jewelry is fine jewelry. It is a process in which a layer of 14kt gold has been layered and mechanically rolled onto a supportive foundation metal. This is not to be confused with "electroplate". The gold content must conform to U.S. Genernment Standards. With reasonable care it will last a lifetime. Frequent cleaning with mild soap and water is recommended to maintain its true beauty. Salt water, chlorine in swimming pools, and perspiration take their toll on all fine jewelry. Wipe your jewelry carefully with a soft cloth to keep it clean and free of these elements which oxidize.
