I just had a winner pay with a paypal e-check. I had already told her I ship to confirmed paypal only-which she is not. No bad FB but not very much FB. Can she do a charge back on a e-check or am I ok to ship. $100.00 item or I wouldn't care!!!
Thanks

e check is fund from her bank account, she cannot do chargeback, chargeback only applies to credit card transaction.
however if she says someone access her account without her consent, her bank can reverse the fund.

I think the seller protection clause PayPal has, applies to any payments made through PayPal.

If you require a confirmed address, you should expect it on all PayPal payments, even e-checks.

Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

E-check, instant payment, credit card- whatever at $100.00 for me it has to be a confirmed address. I just don't have that much faith in these bidders. I draw the line at $50.00 for an unconfirmed address.

You could ship and she could claim non delivery and get her money back.

I know!!! I just hate being so paranoid but it's just getting harder to make any money on ebay as it is and I don't need to take a loss if I can help it. I guess I will go ahead and ship when it clears. She would have to just be a crook to say anything bad about this item as it's really a great item. I bet 99% of buyers aren't even aware they have this option anyway!

Have had E-checks from PP and they sometimes take a full week to clear. Not a problem, on my accounts page they have a status and your buyer should be able to check their account and see their payment has not cleared yet.

Just let them know that you do not ship til payment clears.

You might also want to aske her why her address is un-confirmed. Quite often I find my buyers have their shipments sent to their place of business so they don't have to worry about a neighbor stealing it.

****[[mine is unconfirmed, but verifed--i realize liability of shipping unconfirmed, but i do..and from reading your entire thread, may i ask if you ship to
unconfirmed-if you rather not answer, i certainly understand so]]*****

I do ship to unconfirmed if they have over 10 feedbacks and have been registered more than 6 months. If I don't feel comfortable, for whatever reason, I call them just to see how they sound over the phone.

I have free LD on my cellphone after 7 pm.

IF their contact info is not correct in Ebay, I report them.

Just shipped to an unconfirmed in CA. His ebay contact info was incorrect, so I contacted him at the # he left in checkout. He had moved 6 months earlier and had not updated his accounts. Ebay froze his PP account as well as his bidder's ID. He had to send me a check. Check cleared fine, so I shipped.

I choose to believe in the goodness of people and so far have only been burned once.

Sometimes I have to quit reading this board for a few days because it makes me paranoid and I don't want to live like that. I prefer to believe that most are honest.

I deal in mostly antiques and collectibles, so I guess I don't attract the less desirables.

The one bad bidder I had to deal with was on a sporting goods auction and something told me he was trouble from the start.

I listen to my intuition a lot!

ltray: i dont ship unconfirmed, unless buyer confirms to me via "reply" my personal email to confirm his committment...again, i know it wont standup in the court of paypal, but email, like your phone call, confirms to me...and, i have yet to be burned...
