I shudder every time someone with an Earthlink address wins one of my auctions. About 50% of the emails I send to Earthlink users don't go through. I used to think it was the ongoing spam feuds between AOL and Earthlink where they were constantly blocking each other, but it appears other ISP's are having trouble also. If I don't have a response from an Earthlink user within 24 hours, I routinely send another email from my Yahoo account and they all seem to make it through. I suppose the stringent spam filtering used by the major ISP's are causing a lot of legit email to get zapped.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I am an Earthlink subscriber, and have been since I started selling on eBay - I have never had any problems sending or receiving emails.

good morning>>>this is in reply to the thread by dadofstickboy...you stated, "they" block what they supposed to-OKAY- as sparkz states, "i shudder, etc., etc.," SO DO I...but if one should answer[reply] to a forwarded ebay message from an earthlink customer, then the earthlink spamblocker stops your email, and you get the following....
granted, at first, when i read[before lst cup], i thought it was spoof mail.i was wrong, it is simply earthlink filtering an honest reply to an honest message...i guess what i am trying to say, is "supposed to do," is not what the sender wants to do..oh well, have a great one! myoldtoy

This is an automatic reply to your email message to [email protected]

I think the problem may be how Earthlink's Spamblocker is set up. This is a copy and paste from Earthlink's Spamblocker page...
Select the level of spam blocking security you want below.
Suspect Email and Known spam Blocking (Highest Protection)
Catches Known spam plus any messages from people who are not in your Web Mail Address Book. These 'suspect' messages will be redirected to your Suspect Email folder.
Known spam Blocking (Medium Protection)
Redirects messages we recognize as spam to your Known spam folder.
OFF
Do not block email messages at all.
This is an option as well...
Send me an email summarizing all blocked and suspect email I receive: Never Daily Weekly
We'll only send a summary message if you actually check your email. (If you skip checking your email for a while, we'll summarize the whole period you were gone in one email.)
I have my settings on Medium and don't have a problem receiving emails.

I have never received the email you show from spamblocker.
They only put known spam in the spam folder.
Which I check regular.
Never anything there I want to read, just deleat.
As far as the others, I get: (Spam Alert) in the subject line along with the rest of the subject.
I can honestly say I have never lost any email because of spamblocker.
Sometimes they do come through with (Spam Alert) in the subject line, but they always come through. And I have never found any auction related mail in the Spam folder.

right...and,maybe i didnt make it clear. i received an email for price quote thru the ebay system in reference to one of my auctions-you know the usual type requests...i replied to the email, and was blocked - per the message...if you have never rec'd such a message, evidently sender has a unique problem...and, after seeing a separate thread about vendio emails being blocked, i wondered if e/links spam blocker has something to do with either of these two...i emailed the customer directly, and have received no answer..oh well, just another little glitch that makes us work harder for that sale..have a great one!

I have earthlink and it keeps adding vendio and ebay notices to my blocked listed - so I am blocking my own notices. I think it must happen because I block new emails all the time (I don't block suspected spam - just known spam) and some must come by way of ebay or vendio??? I just hate earthlink email anyway and if I were not about to get Comcast cable connection I would just use OE. And don't even get me started on what earthlink did to me during best Christmas selling time. I bet it cost me $400.00 or $500.00 in lost sells and hours and hours in time. So I guess you could say I'm not a big earthlink fan??

I use OE with Earthlink, and have my spam setting at "Known spam Blocking (Medium Protection)", and I don't have any problem at all getting any emails. I don't get any spam in my inbox, so never have to add email addresses to a "blocked list".
I do have NIS which also has a spam filter, so that may be why I don't get spam at all. I just don't understand why you are missing emails with Earthlink if you have it configured to medium protection.
Since I read this post here, I have gone into web mail to see what was in my spam folder (actually have been checking periodically all day), and the only thing in my spam folder is spam.

I don't use the discs either - and I don't use Earthlink's Start Page. I have cable, and use IE for internet and OE for email - easy enough for me!

That happened to me and turned out it flipped from "medium" setting to "high" and it was blocking everything that was not in my address book. I set it back to medium and its fine now
