Is it just me or do the sellers that use Ebay to host there pictures enjoy paying for washed out photos?? Seems like everyone I clik on is just the pitts! To think people actually pay for this is a crying shame in my opinion.

This is why I use vendio. Other sellers use this service or some other sites for their pictures.
Never did like feebays service for pictures.

I think the free ebay photo is fine. I see many ebay auctions with little red x's from some small rinky-dink hosting services ( not Vendio ) and that is killer of bids and sales.

Compared to other picture hosts, most of eBay's photos truly suck unless it's an item that everyone knows what it looks like to begin with. JMHO

I can't recall the last time I listed an item where I felt one photo would be sufficient for a bidder see every aspect of the item they were being asked to bid on. I usually attach 4 or 5 photos, and on some items I have used up to a dozen pictures. At the prices Ebay charges to host and ruin photos in excess of the first one, Vendio is a bargain.

Sparkz--I agree 100%. I almost always use at least 3 photos and often I have 6 - 9. Vendio is wonderful.

Sparkz, I agree too. When I shop for something I pick it up, turn it over, try to see it from many different angles. I dont think there are too many things you can get away with one picture.
And yeah, I noticed the other day quality of picture thru ebay is not nearly as good as thru vendio.

As a buyer my heart drops when I see that little embossed camera in the lower right corner of the picture at the top of the page. I know before I click "Go to larger picture" that the photograph will be so small and so unsharp that it will not tell me what I want to know about the object. As someone mentioned it might be OK for items that are common or new and assumed perfect or if appearance is not important but is not good for vintage objects where condition can be a matter of opinion. I have even seen some listings where there is no description of condition just "Look at the photograph." OK and that is going to show me the condition? Don't think so. -----o----o----o----o----o----o----o----o

I also usually click on the photo right off to get the larger version.
The picture quality issue is almost moot as a very large percentage of sellers place a dark or fuzzy photo(s) in their auctions anyway. Those photos make the ebay and Vendio photos look like a million bucks.

Agee with Auction ace. A lot of the listings using e-Bay photo host are the fault of the seller not e-bay. Sometimes the photos are just one big black blur and you cannot find where the object ends and the background begins. Doubt the seller even checks the result to see if th pic is viewable. It is possible to get decent photos using e-Bay photo services if you take a little time and effort. Loading them to the site is a different matter. A lot of times you get only half a photo and have to revise and try again by deleting the defective ones.
