Just downloaded an email message purporting to be from safe harbor which I have never gotten before. States my account may have been hijacked and the party attempting to log in using my my ID originated from a foreign IP address. Gives link to click on to. However it was addressed to Dear Ebay Member which arouses my suspicion. Did not clink on link but just forwarded to Spoof at ebay .com. Have had a few others yesterday asking for verification and wanting mother's maiden name, debitcard # etc. etc. which are to obvious to be real. Did anyone else receive the one I just get?

Forgot to mention - E-mail stated my account had 72 hrs before suspension unless I straightened things out. But why would that be so if someone just tried to use my ID.?They do need my password to achieve any results since everyone's ID is available to anyone. This also made me doubtful that e-bay sent it.

The email that I just forwarded to spoof@Ebay states:

Dear eBay Member,

Dear customer, you have been billed for $15.00 recently. Please update your billing information at eBay Billing Center.

This is eBay auto generated message, if you think you received it by mistake or you want to remove these notifications, please update your profile at Billing Center.

Forgot to add that they addressed this to "Dear ebay member" AND "Dear customer". Now if that doesn't confirm that it is fake...

I've gotten at least six in just the past 3 days. All of them just slightly different. They are coming in waves. I've reported every one of them. Hope nobody is falling for these scammers.

Here's the one I received today:

Dear eBay member,

This is an automated message sent to you by eBay Billing Update.

We have recently tried to VeriCharge your credit or debit card we have on record for $0.01, and the charge was declined. The $0.01 charge is only to confirm that the credit or debit card that you submitted to eBay is current. The charge being declined was likely caused by your credit card being over its limit or that the account has been cancelled.

In order for us to keep your account open we need to verify the status of your credit or debit card. In furtherance all flagged accounts will be given a full 48 hours prior to eBay suspending your account. We thank you for your response and look forward to continuing to serve you.

Please click here to proceed to our secure 128 bit SSL encrypted billing server.

Yours sincerely,

Colleen Keeley
eBay Billing Department

It actually looked pretty authentic, except it was for an account that has been "not a registered user" for about a year now.
