NPB's have No rights,, to post. After the fact lies. But E bay currently lets them. They need to be blocked! Once the NPB is completed.
Naru's . Soooo, LONG! after 3,,,, DIFFERENT, sellers file NPB's. Negs do Nothing to NARU them. filing DOES.
A current bidders Geographical location i.e. STATE/ZIP/CITY needs to be known California cool Shades.
E bays feedback system is Insanely . A cooling period of F/B like 20 days of filing for fees back. Soon many give up. Works for E bay. They keep 1000's of dollars.

bite the bullet and go for it Jack. You won't miss dialup and you'll have lots of hair left that you won't be tearing out trying to upload pics every month. Just tell yourself "I am worth it" every time you think about the $$. And you are. Look how much you contribute here.

I don't even want to think about what my provider charges me every month.

got time to surf for info? Check out http://www.dslreports.com/ for service in your area. They truly are the "bible" for service and connections. (though the message board/forums were kind of snotty to me, and I thought I was NICE!)

OWH! Evidently Extreme monitors the message boards over there. Read this post under "rate your provider" http://www.dslreports.com/comment/1434/41433

Hi Jack,

Is Charter Cable in your area? I know it's kinda pricey - mine (including all the taxes, etc.) is $86 a month but it does include lotsa-channel-cable for the TV.

In a couple of years I've had maybe 2-3 times it was down. Nothing on my end - just maintenance in the wee small hours of the morning and stuff like that.

Hi Jack, I like Verizon. It seems pretty reliable and I think it is still under $30.00. I haven't looked at the phone bill lately, as long as it is under $60.00 I don't even check it. LOL, kids are gone so no more BIG surprises.

Comcast Cable is super fast and reliable. Buy your own cable modem ( $60 ) and save $10/month and pay $40 instead of $50.

Jack

Check into the cable providers in your area. I use Adelphia Powerlink. My cable bill and my cable Internet are combined and it actually comes out cheaper than when I was paying for cable and AOL! We get the HBO package on our cable (plus a few other perks). That with the cable internet runs us about $95 per month. You can get cheaper packages if you omit movie channels. I wouldn't go back to the headaches with DSL again after experiencing cable Internet!

Just shop around, but don't fall for any of those dial-ups claiming highspeed service... all they do is compress and decompress at the other end... not even close to being as fast as true dsl or cable.

I have been on Verizon for nearly a year & was having lots of problems, After about 2 dozen calls & having local repairmen looking at everything, it was discovered that I had a bad phone jack. Since that was changed, everything has run great. One thing I really like is the spam filter. Rarely get any.

We have knology cable in the Florida panhandle and love it. Cable, phone and internet in one package for $100 a month, taxes included. Can't beat it using separate services. And only the occasional spam. 1 or 2 a month!

My latest current problem,,,,when switching to my other email addresses, every 5th time,,,I have to YANK!!!! the plug out of the computer and start it ALL over. Everytime.

Earthlinks most famouse line is,,,corrupt files. I am SICK of hearing that excuse. 3 years dial up and DSL. Makes No difference. Hours of elevator music,,,,moments (and sometimes quite often hours of their techs and then I hang up the phone and WWWWWWHAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!!! the SAME problem!!!!!!!)of their fix....2 more months of this CONTRACT for DSL and I am OUT of THERE!!!

I may just go with dslextreme. might take them a year to get to $50.00 a month, last month their ad said,, $24.95 this month it's now $27.95......

Classic, you don't know how much time you're wasting on page loads until you have cable.

We only use our system for ebay and web surfing, but I can safely say cable download speeds are 10x faster. If you do much research before writing an auction, that time is invaluable!

That was an analogy, Same thing here and it USED to be just that exciting on e bay...(I know depends on what you sell) I bought a something the other day I was sure,,,would be a WINNER!!!!! listed twice,,,,No sale.

I put a hundred down on the table on that bet,it's collecting dust out in the warehouse...This IS on line Gambling now..Use to be The bidders were the Gamblers. We sellers placed the SURE bets. Anything we had to sell, SOLD. That was three years ago.

I was using DSL from Jump.net which was bought by Hosting.com, which then decided to cancel all DSL services some months ago. I did a lot of looking and comparing, then signed up for Earthlink cable modem (now faster than DSL) through Time Warner Cable here in Texas. No contract, month-to-month.

I searched the web and found a deal from Earthlink that was otherwise unadvertised and didn't appear on their main site, nor on the Time Warner site.

I got free equipment (as long as I stayed a year), free installation, first 3 months at $21.95 per month, then $41.95. I had been paying $49.95 per month previously, so I was happy.

I was surprised the new cable modem was even faster than my old DSL. I forget the unit of measurement (Sorry, I'm metrically challenged!), but my DSL was typcially running at 1.5 and my cable modem runs over 2.0 (I believe it's MBS - megabytes per second?)

Anyway, once you switch from dial-up to high-speed, you will never go back. Not to be rude here, but it's like the differnce between being a child and having your first sexual experience!

My only complaint about Earthlink is that when I try to use their enhancements (pop up blocker, more) via their software, it cannot reach their server to register. Says I am not connected to the internet, but I am. I'm pretty sure it's some local problem with my computer. Their tech dept was no help. Just gave me the dummies version of reinstalling it. I try every time they advertise they have upgraded it. Never works and I just uninstall it.

But I'm happy otherwise. Almost never down (once in 6 months) and I can snipe Ebay auction 5 to 8 seconds before they close and my bid still arrives 2 - 3 seconds before the close.

Have fun,
Patty
