I have www.craigslist.org here in Portland, and have found it to be a great source of both items to buy and sell locally. I prefer the local selling for larger items, and have had great success using their free listserve service.
I have bought many things from locals for next to nothing only to turn it around on ebay for double, triple, maybe even quadruple what I paid localy.
Anyone else have experience with Craigslist that they want to share?

Say, ebayvet: I see your Kerry sticker. Isn't it time for all the vets to let go of the Fonda thing??? She hasn't been active for years and years! Just a suggestion that folks find another dead horse to beat.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
You read about all these terrorists --- most of them came here legally, but
they hung around on these expired visas, some for as long as 10 -15 years.
Now, compare that to Blockbuster; you are two days late with a video and
those people are all over you. Let's put Blockbuster in charge of
immigration.

Yeah, they are pretty cheap bastards on craigslist, but for the most part I get what I want for something and don't have to ship it.
One time in band camp... jk. One time I had a guy who I contacted about his ad for a sofa for $65. We schedule a time to meet so I can see it. He calls back the next day to tell me that the actual price was $100. Then the day I am supposed to see it, I get a call on my answering machine from the guy telling me that someone offered him $150 for it. Obviously, I never called him or went to see it. Some people on there are morons, but that is often to my advantage.

A reporter contacted me a about a craigslist posting I had up. It amused him and he interviewed me for his story. Anyway ....I can't say if it helped bring traffic to my site but I got tons of emails from it.

CNBC: "Unless the economy adds at least 2.3 million jobs by the end of the year, Bush will go down as the first president since Hoover to preside over a four-year term in which total employment fell."

Since when did politics come into play on these threads??? I have seen too many people adding extra political BS to their comments. I consider myself very political savy, but don't feel this is the place for people to do it.
I have even noted some "hate" comments towards jews and gays on thread replies. Once again, very inappropriate and unprofessional. I support your right to have your own political, social, and cultural views, however do it in another category like, Vendio Round Table where anything goes.
