I have received the package. The guitar was not quite what I wanted. It is not a full size guitar, it is a 3/4 size.

Hello Ms. M :
i am sorry you are disappointed in the guitar... below, i have c/pasted 2 sections of my auction...the initial section of my auction in which i gave the measurements of the guitar...this states its size ...i described the guitar down to the chips on the pickguard and imaged them, and the "ding" on the guitar...i dont want a dissatisfied customer...but i dont know what else i could have done...

[copypasted from my auction]

"36inches long and approx 13 inches wide...the pick guards have some chips on them..the closeup of the lower edge shows a ding approx. 5cm and deep enough to feel...."

..IF MY PRESENTATION DOESNT MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS, PLEASE QUESTION IT BEFORE BIDDING...THIS IS NOT NEW MERCHANDISE

Send your answer and wait for them to respond.

Did you say it was a full size guitar or just gave the dimensions?

BTW, what kind of guitar was it and did you get a good price for it?

This is a POSSIBLE email: Many Solutions to choose from of course.
--------------------------

We are sorry to here the guitar did not meet your expectations.

We intentionally put the measurements of this guitar in our description in case the size was important to someone.

We never meant to indicated this guitar was full size, or any size other than the given measurements.

We are very customer oriented, and would like to know what you would like us to do to make this up to you?

---------------------------

It may be the person is just wanting to know that you care.

Shipping a Guitar back to you, even if not what they expected is not cheap, and may not be their choice, even if given a choice.

Find out what their expectations are.

They may say, "We will go ahead and keep it". Thank you for offering to make a solution.

Good Luck!

if this IS the Gibson/Martin guitar...the good news is that person has NEVER left feedback in their 30 transactions.

Isn't that strange?

BUT this is one reason I never take the auction pics down until the buyer has left feedback or until a reasonable amount of time has passed, like a month. If they're going to complain it will usually be within that amount of time. That way they can't claim I switched pictures or something.

Since you gave the measurements I'm not sure what their complaint is.
Sounds more like they had a different image in their mind and did not bother to read or ask you to confirm the size.

What to do? Thats up to you. How does this "feel" to you? Sounds more like buyers remorse to me.

What I would do is go with my gut instincts. This is after all an auction and not walmart.

If you feel that it is a case of[buyers remorse] because they did not read then
I see no reason for you to take the fall.

Take some time and think it over before you answer them.

Make sure that there is no chance that the buyer could make a mistake while reading [if they did at all] your description as far as size goes.

That was a point I forgot to make.

If you do not make them too mad, they may not leave feedback anyway.

They may only decide to figure out how to leave feedback if you act indifferent to their complaint.

If that neg feedback conversation pops up. just refresh them that it's a TWO way Street.

Just send it back for 100% bid refund.

I would not be so fast to make them that offer as yet. Wait and see how this plays out.

If you decide to go this route then they can pay for the shipping.[no refund till you see the item in your hands.]

there you go...there's the clue...."the guitar is not quite what I wanted."

She/he didn't say "not what I expected", just "not what I wanted"

Golly gee, how hard did you twist her arm to make her bid?

It is her perogitive to bid or not to bid, to ask questions before the auction ends.

Buyer's remorse here.

Refund? it's your gut, go with it.
