When did Ebay start giving us 90 days on the listing fee credit?

I don't know. But I was pretty mad today when I went to apply for a FVF on an item that was returned for a refund.; but ebay said, 'nope, can't get a fvf refund' because I took too long to apply for it. it was an early January sale

Last time I looked it was only available for 30 days after the listing.
At some time that 30 has changed to 90 days.

It's always been as long as you know the item number it's a free relist if sold.

I don't think so. I've relisted items at 31 days after a close and did not get the re-list fee credited back for those that sold. I don't know if listing through a 3rd party vs from My eBay is the reason, but I've never gotten them past 30 days.

According to eBay:
Relisting Your Item
General requirements for the credit
You must relist the item within 90 days of the closing date of the original listing.

Final Value Fee Credits
Here's how to request a Final Value Fee credit:
Wait at least seven business days for a bidder/buyer to respond to your attempts to contact him or her. Fill out the Non-Paying bidder/buyer Alert Form (this must be done within 45 days of the end of your auction).
Try to work with the high bidder/buyer for at least 10 days to resolve the issue. Once the 10 days have passed, fill out the Final Value Fee Credit Request Form (this must be done within 60 days of the end of your auction).

Well isn't that something. I wonder if that went into effect on 2/02/04 the same time as the changes to NPB's being eligible for relist credit. I had items from FLD that I relisted on 2/01 and I did not get the fees back, just hours past 30 days after they closed.

I always thought it was 30 days also. Either they changed it or I've been in la la land longer than I suspected.

There must have been a change in eBay's relisting policy because I copied on this thread:http://www.vendio.com/mesg/read.html?num=2&id=547416&thread=547088 straight from the Seller's Guide and it clearly said 30 days there!
I wonder if Vendio submits the listings we try to list that are longer than 30 days old as "relists" or just launches as new auctions?? If they don't specify "relist" with reference to the old item number then I don't see how we could get listing credit???? I wonder if Vendio is aware of the 90-day policy?? I tried to relist 45 day old items yesterday and I got the error code that they did not qualify as relists.

There was a time when ebaY said 30 days but as long as you had the auction number and the auction was available in search the relist was free if sold.
Another lesser known fact is a closed fixed price listing can be converted to auction format and be free if sold. Very useful when ebaY does the 10¢ fixed price promotion.

I know it has to be a recent change.
Back when I used CA to list that was the excuse they gave for deleting the closed item list in 60 days even though many of us requested 90.
When someone posted on another board about not getting it when using a service but getting it if relisted directly through Ebay I went to check it out and found the change
Now, if it will just work when using it through a 3rd party. I have lots of items from FLD waiting and will be trying it with a few to see.

It has always been that way. Just after 30 days, you need to have the auction number written down as it drops from the my ebay pages. I am still using mine from the FLD in December. And yes, I am still getting my relisting fee credits.

No matter what you all say, or what you may or may not have gotten credit for...The Ebay page said 30 days up until recently.
I know 30 days has always been their policy but I'm happy to see it has changed
I admit, I haven't checked in about 6 months but last year it definitely said "30 days".

Hi Lindajean,
maybe your thinking of the "My Ebay" page where we can only have items listed on that page for the past 30days? could that be why you though it was only 30days to relist for free .......so if you relist and it sells you just pay one listing fee, but as you mentioned I also thought it was only 30days for relisting but I am seeing here that it is up to 90 days to relist..........that goes to show how much I pay attention...lol

Then you were clearly misinformed back then as well. It is only visable for 30 days, but is in the system for 90. And yes, you do get the credits. I always go through my ebay invoices to make sure the proper charges and credits have been made and the credits are always there. Been that way for as long as I have been on ebay.

I have been relisting auctions up to 90 days old and getting the refund if the item sold for over four years now...even though the rules stated 30 days.

But does it work when it is relisted through Vendio? Vendio still tells me after 30 days it is no longer a relist. I don't relist through eBay because I have lots of pictures and don't want to pay 10 cents for each one.

No, it doesn't work through vendio...but maybe now that the rules state 90 days vendio will get with the program and "relist" items up to 90 days old
