I have received 3 emails via "Ask Seller A Question" today all asking if I ship to their location which is in the U.S. I live in the U.S. and all auctions are listed as ship to USA, Canada, Europe and Australasia. They are saying that when they go to bid, they get a pop-up from eBay that says they need to ask for permission to bid first. I have never heard of this.
Anyone else experiencing this?

they may want the item shipped to usa location, but they could be in one of the countries not on your list.

All three of the bidders show as registered in the USA. I can understand one, but three all in the same day is very strange!

Sounds like there is a hitch in the programming giddyup You might want to clear your settings and then reset them just in case. Three people asked but how many possilbly just moved on.

They may be testing a new system to block foreign bidders fron USA only auctions and your account was selected for a beta. If so, there's obviously a few bugs to iron out before it's rolled out.

I do not think Ebay would be that helpful.LOL
Must be a glitch in the system.

Sounds like one of two things. Either you accidently made your auction private and need to preapprove your bidders or they are on your blocked bidder list.

Private auctions do not require preapproval of bidder.

I think Stone's talking about a pre-approved bidder auction. If anyone has the link to do that I'd sure appreciate it. I searched high and low on eBay the other day and couldn't find it.

Lucy...I need a little practice on making links so let's see if this works:

I got the same message when I was bidding too. First bid went in OK but when I bid again there was a warning stating that the seller didn't ship to my country. We both have US addresses..

I just received the 4th notice this morning and below is the text from the email:
I am trying to bid on the above item and they keep putting up a message that you will not ship this item to my location. Is this true? Please let me know as I would really like to bid on this.
This is the item in question:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewItem&item=2898522520
This is from a regular customer and we are both in the U.S. and the auction is not private. I just sent an email to PS support but don't really expect any kind of useful answer.

I just bid on that dress, Marc, and there was no problem.
I wonder how your problem bidders are accessing eBay. It can make a difference sometimes if they went to http://www.ebay.com or accessed it through an AOL or Earthlink gateway page.
In this instance, I went directly to the auction to bid.
The browser, strangely enough, may be affecting their ability to access eBay pages. I am getting "Invalid Item" eBay error messages when searching from certain pages in IE for the Mac. I don't get those errors in IE for the PC.

Thanks for checking Fluffy
I am in the middle of revising all auctions to say "I Ship Worldwide" in hopes this may be part of the problem. eBay has made a ton of changes this week and one of them is bound to be the cause of the problem!

It's clearly an ebaY glitch, imagine all the bidders just saying screw it and backing out. I know I did the first time I saw it.

I got a response from PS support and they acknowledged that this is a system problem and are working on it aggressively as there have been many reports.

just have to ask...what's with these warped pictures that are now displaying at the top of everybodies auction page? Is it Ebay or the sellers picture?
