I listed an "untouchbables" video last spring.About 4 days into the auction,Robert Stack dies.I thought about pulling the auction, but realized that the bidding was higher then usual, and their were alot more auctions for robert stack items. This is the first time I realized everyone likes to jump on the band wagon when someone dies. This past summer or fall I had listed Johnny Cash Live in london, and and low and behold about 3 or 4 days into the auction he dies. Now I have had a Jan and Dean live in Toronto up for acution for 3 days now,and I just found out that Jan Berry died. Its not like I list these auctions every week, ususally I list them every 2-3 months-bizzare or what? I know one thing--I AINT LISTING MY HOME VIDEOS ON EBAY !!

Great marketing idea, Classic. If you decide to list that crystal ball you're using, you'll be rich.

The demise of anything seems to bring bids. Last Sunday Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia was demolished for a parking lot for the new stadium.
My son put a ticket & program on eBay from the Phillies opening game when Veterans stadium was brand new which was on April 10, 1971. The bid is now up to 80.00

neroter,
Yes, beach songs, in fact they sounded like The Beach Boys.

LOL Park--the thought did come to mind

yes they were basically the beach boys cut in half although they were around before the beach boys were.they had a hit in 1957 called "jenny lee" and another hit in 1959 called "baby talk" but they come into prominence with their biggest hit in 1963 called "surf city" after the beach boys started the surfin craze-they had a few other hits-"honolulu lulu"-"sidewalk surfin" and "little old lady from pasadena" After Jans accident in 1966 that left him severly brain damaged they couldnt record anymore, although dean torrence did sing lead on the beach boys "barbara ann" In their hey day Jan wrote most of the music, and took over control of the recording studio doin most of the mixing-very intelligent. He taught brian wilson alot about mixing in the studio and if you ever hear the "pet sounds" album, you know why it was so good. Dean was more laid back and commical and eased the tension in the studio, but jan was the man.
