I've been thinking about listing some auctions in UK and in Australia but I've never seen anything on Vendio about it. Do you have to go through ebays listing service to do it? Thanks for any advice. I do already sell outside US on my auctions listed here in the US.

No, Vendio does not allow directposting to the .uk or .au sites.

AuctionWorks does allow posting to the .uk site. You need to set up a seperate account in GBP for your listings to show up correctly.

If are thinking of doing it on a long terms basis the best bet is to first try out a few listings done manually and see how they do.

Remember to sign in to the site directly and list your country as the one you are listing from. If you list on the UK site and list your country as the UK it will appear in their default searches. If you state US then they will have to specifically select searching for items Available to the UK which defeats the purpose of listingfrom their site. Also be aware that you will be listing in their currency so check the exchange rates to figure out your opening bid amounts.

There are a couple idiocincracies your should know.

The most common form of payment for Australians are bank transfers. They are free to them but for them to send you one is going to cost you (my bank charges $15 to recieve a foreign transfer). Spell out very specifically what your accepted methods of payments are or you may end up with a high deadbeat rate of people who just don't want to mess with trying to get a money order in USD, pay the AuctionPayments.com fees or go thru the process of setting up a PayPal account which will take them several days.

For the UK, most common form of payment is PayPal. You can set your current account up to carry a GBP balance which you can transfer to USD at any time in at a very fair rate (currently fluctuating in the 1.75-1.8 range). If you are going to insist on Money Orders you have to spell out that you don't accept Postal Orders. Postal Order is their default version of a money order and it will show in the ebay text that you accept them, problem is that they are not negotiable in the US. If your bank does take them they are going to charge you $17-20 PER NOTE (they are like travelers checks and come in predetermined denominations).

You should also pay attention to the native terms and spellings. Some items are spelled differently or called by a different name, if you want your item to show up make sure you have checked you keywords to make sure you have correct useage.

Hope this helps some.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
