I just drafted a listing for a postcard from Lake CHARGOGGAGOGGMANCHAUGGAGOGGAGUNGAMAUGG in Webster Mass...that must be some kind of record for the longest lake name! Hope no one searches just titles for that one! They sure won't find mine!

Hi Neglus,
They have their own association!
Editing, link didn't work. Anyway, I found it by Googling the name of the lake.

Damm,
I thought it was going to be something in our area like Winnebigosh. I guess with all of our lakes, it will be tough to beat that one.

You realize that you can get to Paradise, PA - by going through Intercourse, PA. The other route - seriously - takes you through Bird-in-Hand and Blue Ball...
Grew up there and spent many years as a journalist in Lancaster County, PA.

Ya Wayne, Then you can find the wqy to Hell, SD.
At one time there was a town or lake in Wales with the longest name known to man. Check with google or jeeves, they will be able to confirm yor claim.

Say - I can pronounce it!!
I spent many hours learning how to pronouce the name while riding a bus travelling to away games when I was a high school athlete. Have always liked the novelty of the name. It's fun to find an old postcard with the full name on it - there are several different spellings. The one I learned actually has a few more syllables to it.
It supposedly is Native American (Nipmuc maybe?) and means "You fish on your side, I fish on my side and nobody fishes in the middle". The lake is shaped sort of like three joined circles.
and guess what inspired my moniker?!
