Hi, all--I was revising an auction and noticed for the first time the option of using one of the two Ebay counters. I'd noticed there weren't any counters in my auctions before, but originally when I started selling I opted for one of them and thought they'd stay (silly me?).

I've looked at Ebay site specifics and see no place where I can choose to have the counters added automatically. Any suggestions?

OR! Do some of you have reasons for NOT wanting the counters to show? Since I launch through Vendio, I can see how many hits an item has gotten--so perhaps it's not so important anymore.

Hi Roadsmith!
eBay's counters are actually through Andale. I list directly from eBay and there's always a box "add counter" that stays checked.

I think (but I won't swear to it!) you can just go directly to Andale, sign up for the free counters and they will add them to all of your auctions.

Thanks! I never went through Andale before, so I don't understand why I had counters in all my auctions for at least 3 years--and suddenly don't. Now I'm wondering why I even need them (overnight helps my brain work better) since the Vendio seller's page is so helpful.

Roadsmith-I've always had counters.Simple reason is that I want to know how many people are looking at it.If its something no one is looking at,maybe its not worth selling or re-listing if it doesnt sell. However if I get alot of hits, and no sale, maybe the price is too high and I can re-list it with a lower price.

Hi Roadsmith

You can also show Vendio counters on your auctions if you wish. You can find lots of different styles if you go to "My Account", "eBay Site Specifics", "Counters" and then click "Change".

Classic - Yes, that's why I originally opted for the counters. But do you list through Vendio? If you do, the seller page is very neatly laid out with all the hits an item has gotten.

Kiara: I must be blind or maybe I'm being discriminated against. I've looked at Ebay site specifics three times now, patiently waiting for everything to load, and I don't see "counters" anywhere. Odd. As I said, I've decided I don't need the counters, since I list through Vendio--but it's strange that there's no mention of counters (that I can find anyway.) Thanks for trying to help, though!

When you click into ebay site specifics if you look at the top of the page along the top line you should see:

My Account: eBay Site Specifics

Site Specifics

"Duration" "eBay Stores Duration" "Counter" should all be on the same line.
