A bidder contacted me asking some questions about one of my patterns. I answered her questions and included links to my other patterns that were similar in case she might be interested. Turns out that one of the patterns I showed her she got stiffed on by another seller. She was the high bidder on that pattern and I was second highest under another identity. (I buy and sell under separate ebay ids.) The seller contacted me saying that the high bidder didn't contact her back and asked if I wanted it. I bought that pattern and a couple of others from her. I did get the patterns. Well, it seems that the seller took the other bidder's money and sent her some poor images of the pattern through the computer that she can't even print out. This bidder doesn't know it's me that ended up with her pattern booklet. I had a funny feeling about this particular seller. She only had a feedback of 5 and came from another country. I sweated it out wondering if I was going to get the booklet myself.
I feel terrible for this other bidder. Fortunately, we're not talking about a huge amount of money ($26.00), but that's not the point. She really wanted that booklet. I don't want to say anything to her because then I give away my other identity. I just feel badly for her.

I'm confused??? So what's new!!!
The seller sold the second bidder the original item and sent the winner a copy?? Why would they do that - the winner could give neg FB but you can't. Maybe I need a nap?

Lady -- That's exactly what she did! I don't know why she did that! The only thing I could think of was that I purchased other items from her and was in touch with her immediately. Perhaps she thought that the winning bidder wasn't going to pay. Who knows?

I do know about copywrite, but in this sad case could you make a good copy of the pattern & mail it to her. You don't have to tell her where you got it.
Believe me I know how you feel, helping her will make you feel better.

You shouldn't feel bad because obviously the seller had her reasons for contacting you to purchase the pattern. Remember...there are always two sides to the story. The seller gave you exactly what you paid for and I'm assuming was prompt and professional in the transaction. The person who contacted you may not have followed the sellers TOS or didn't send payment within the time limits. Who knows. I think I'd be more cautious of the person contacting you rather than the seller who sold it to you and completed the deal without any problems.

Is this the same one who is on disability and wanted to know if you would mind making copies of the patterns and sending them to her?

MsLucy -- No. This is a different bidder. The one on disability accused me of ruining her! LOL ... I cancelled her bid on another of my items when it reach $36.00 and I realized she was screwing up bidding on my item. That's when she wrote me and told me that I was ruining her. She said that she's almost blind and crippled but that she could crochet by feeling. That woman had so many excuses it was outright embarrassing to read her e-mail! Fluffy thought she was a bit flakey, but I think she's schnockered.

Bizzy,
Hmmm... blind and crippled but can crochet by feeling?? Yeah, sure... Okay, maybe.
So how is she able to use a computer?
Oh, oh, I know!!! She just feels the monitor.
Although she's certainly a flake, I don't believe I completely agree with Fluffy on this one. I think you're right. She's schnockered - musta been into the Two-Buck-Chuck again.
I was just curious. If it were the same person maybe she wasn't really stiffed but had pulled a stunt on the other seller to get a copy and wasn't satisfied with it.
Maybe you can send the one you feel sorry for a good quality photocopy of the pattern. Include it as a bonus if she wins one of the others?

Actually, the blind are quite capable of crocheting and knitting.

I know, Bunni. My mother-in-law would take her knitting to the movies and knit while she watched the show. She made great cable pattern sweaters without looking at what she was doing. Come to think of it, maybe knitting/crocheting is sorta like typing. The less you look the better.
In this case, though, I doubt Bizzy's bidder is telling the truth.

It's quite possible she could crochet if she's blind. But what's she going to do with the pattern?
