Can someone tell me please... I keep seeing ebay sellers requesting that winning bidders pay an additional 5% if using paypal. Is this ebay legal? Thanks for your response.

Thanks for your response. I did indeed find all of them in UK listings. I'd love to recoup the 5% also... they can also sell products that are knockoffs ( and clearly stated as such) and get away with it... we can't wonder why?

toasted36 they do have a vero policy I just checked. It seems that unlike in the states, they can get away with selling knockoffs. I was looking at ladies shoes and handbags on the UK site and was watching the auctions in the last 5 mins sell that were listed as, looks like and don't buy this if you want a real one. Ebay closed an auction of mine last year for a Dior scarf that was not "real". I was careful to say that in the description and it was closed anyway... under our "vero "policy. Interesting.... maybe I should try listing it on ebay UK only and see what happens! I sure would like to get away with recovering my paypal money also! Thanks again.

I thought that the UK sellers are only aloud to charge the paypal fee to UK buyers only !!!!
If you are a buyer for a UK seller, they are not to charge you a fee for using Paypal.
Am I wrong ??? Thought that is what I was told or read somewhere ???

UK sellers can charge a surcharge to UK buyers but not to others and USA sellers cannot add a surcharge for UK bidders. The UK site does have VERO but what it does not have are the same cut throat level of sellers that turn each other in for everything under the sun. and I think that a lot of VERO owners simply are not ebay savvy enough to check the international sites.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Correct. Only UK buyers can be dinged for the P.P. surcharge. So if you buy something from a UK seller they can not nail you for that.
Anyone else just has to pile the fee into your S/H charge.
