I had someone win an auction last week. When I checked her feedback, she has 2 positives, and 2 negs for non-payment, so I was pretty leery. I have send 5 emails, no response. Tonight I got her contact information and called her, and explained that she won my auction, but I hadn't had a reply to my emails. Her response was "Well, I don't want it anyway!" and she put the phone down on me. Now I can file a non-bidding warning, but there's no way she's going to pay, so I have to wait another 10 days to get my final value fees returned, wait until it appears in my account, and then I can relist it. I have complained to eBay, I sure hope the other 2 buyers files for fvf refund.

I once had a buyer that emailed me a day or two after the auction ended stating she was not going to pay for the item because her grandson had made the bid. So I relisted it thinking that she was not going to pay and guess what...another bidder bought it using the buy it now option paying with Paypal and the grandma paid with Paypal (she wanted to give the item to her grandson for his birthday)...all within 30 minutes of each other.

jackswebb The reason for waiting is that now you can relist for free if you had a non paying bidder the first listing, but you have to file for return of final value fees, and have them shown in your account before you can relist for free, at least, that is my understanding. It was quite a high listing price, so I don't want to lose any more than I have to.

you may not have to wait 10 days to get your final value fee back if you choose the reason-buyer and seller mutually agree not to complete the transaction when you file for non payment alert or what you call it the first time??
you said you called her and she said she does not want the item.

We didn't mutually agree. She decided not to pay, and I think if I put it that we did both agreed, the non-paying bidder will not count against her, and I want it to. We don't need buyers like this on eBay. Out of 5 auctions, she has only paid for 2. If I have to wait in order to get her suspended, I would rather do that. One thing I don't understand is that she now has 0 feedback, because her 2 positives are wiped out by her 2 negs, yes she has 50% feedback. How can someone with 0 feedback be at 50%. When someone starts and has no feedback, there feedback is at 0%, so why should hers be 50%?

it is zero net. take 2 positive and divided by total of 4 feedback,it is 50%.
back to this mutual/non mutual business, you want revenge and punishment or do you want to make money like jack ??

stopwhining, no I don't want revenge or punishment. I will block her bids, so she won't affect me again, but by allowing her to get away with just bidding, and then being really rude, and putting the phone down while I was speaking is not acceptable. I feel as sellers we have a responsibility to see that if possible, people such as this are suspended, and don't play the same tricks on other sellers. I see that she have several high bids on jewelry, so others may already be getting burned by her. I guess making money is not as important to me as doing the right thing.

We all get this type sooner or later. Why waste money phoning them, its not your job to babysit anyone. Five emails is three to many.
I will send one at the end of auction and another if I hear nothing by the end of the week. After that I file NPB and relist or offer to the second high bidder if my npb notice does not wake them up.
Never waste more time on a deadbeat if you can help it. Make sure you file for your FVF and pray this fool gets the boot.

Amber...I too would rather wait the 10 days and do my part to get this deadbeat booted before she burns someone else. You made the right decision, now go for it!

Amber
Good for you - hate it if someone wins my auction only find out they have like 5 neg FB. Why are they still registered????
Write the other seller's to be sure they file too.
You can relist whenever you want and still file for FVF. There is an option that states winner never sent payment. If she were to make payment - just return it. If that happens there is another option that states the winner did not comply with your TOS. I assume you require payment in 5 or 7 days?
I think the whole FVF takes far too long and ebay needs to work on this. Some bidders can string you along for over a month.
I don't know how the free relist works on NPB - hopefully you don't lose this if you relist before you can file for FVF?

Unfortunately, bidders with negatives are not the only problem. I've had bidders with no negatives refuse to answer my emails like I'm just going to go away. I don't think so. Most will reply once I send a payment reminder, but then there's that group that just refuse. Just when you are ready to file the NPBA, a check or money order shows up in the mail. Why is it so hard for some people to email back and say "check's in the mail?." Or, I love the ones that you've emailed a few times and then when you file for your fvf, they finally get back to you saying they're sorry, but they completely forgot about you. Sure you did. I only sent you five emails so that you would remember me. Dumb. Sorry, but you are too late. The item is already relisted and I'm getting my fees back. Maybe the next time you'll take a minute or two to answer your Email.
Amber you are doing the right thing. These people need to be weeded out. I get tired of wasting my time on them.
