Someone probably hijacked his account and went on a bidding spree. After Ebay was able to regain control of it and get it back to him, they removed the feedback since it didn't involve transactions he was involved in.

Check his feedback profile and see if they were removed by mutual agreement. The best idea, rather than to assume, would be to ask the seller in question what happened.
Considering that this person sells in your catagory and previously threatened you I find it rather doubtful that his account was hijacked nad by matter of sheer coincidence the hijaccker decided to buy out you store. That just does not make sense.
