It just took me about 2 hours to post 3 auctions - all because of ITEM SPECIFICS! I haven't done any auctions in a while, and I am wondering if I am really stupid or what! I had to put measurements in I.S. and no matter how I put them in, they were wrong! I finally had to delete the 1/2" and just put in the wrong measurements! I often list odd ball items that don't fit in any normal categories, and the itme specifics show up, and then I have to start all over! Thanks for letting me rant a bit! I liked Ebay so much better, when it was less complicated!

My impression is that you don't have to fill in all the item specifics. Maybe I'm wrong? Especially for what you're listing, I would think people wouldn't care as much about the measurements. Again, though, what do I know?

You don't have to fill in item specifics. It's a real time killer. Just put info in the listing description or however you used to do it.

Thanks all. I did think it was something we had to use! This is an email I received from Ebay the other day. I realize that this says it will start in June, but this makes it sound like we WILL be required to use Item specifics in the future? Ebay has a way of wording these things, that I think adds to the confusion. Any thoughts? Thanks!

"Important Notice: Pottery & Glass Category Structure Changes

In order to give buyers more flexibility in the search/browse experience and enable them to find items more quickly and efficiently, we will simplify the Pottery & Glass category structure during the month of June. Please note that in order for your items to be listed and located successfully, you will need to use Item Specifics in the following categories after the changes go into effect:

The new category structure will be reflected as follows:

Pottery & Glass > Glass > Art Glass (id# 988)
Pottery & Glass > Glass > Glassware (id# 17)
Pottery & Glass > Glass > Stained Glass Supplies (id# 4770)
Pottery & Glass > Pottery & China (id# 94)
Pottery & Glass > Wholesale Lots > Pottery & China Wholesale Lots (id #60102)
Pottery & Glass > Wholesale Lots > Glass Wholesale Lots (id #60101)"

Omigod, Dazed! Now they're doing it in the pottery area? They are going to get an earful from those sellers (and I'm one of them occasionally).

Just proves they're wanting the sellers and buyers to do more of the work Ebay used to help us do. It does look like they're trying to squeeze out the little guys.
