Hi,
I wonder if anybody knows of an EASY image editor to use..I was using Microsoft office word standard... and it was easy and suited me but my program expired which was installed on my new XP and the renewal is costly!!!! (299.00)! I can get the teacher edition for 124.00 which has the same features, but there are restrictions.. I think I qualify with grandchildren in school here 3 or 4 months a year...but...I do not know how or what you have to prove when you register the new license, and since you can not return software, I hate to potentially lose the 124.00...Still, $ steep for what I use out of it...any ideas or anything cheaper that is one click EASY and good?.All I would I really need is the imaging because I have Microsoft works for letter writing...I do not use all of the other stuff on office..XP will not let me use my HP camera software, won't load the director!. Any and all help would be very appreciated,
Thanks!

Hi there Kiddo ... well, for FREE you can download AOL 9.0 and it has a fabulous built-in photo editor that I am in love with! ... (and you DON'T have to join or become an AOL member to do this; just download the aol software so it's on your computer's desktop and you can do the photo editing offline) ... the BEST button to click on this photo edit program is one called "Auto Enhance" ... I swear it's like magic! it corrects and sharpens the picture automatically to SUCH an improvement over what the photo looks like at first. that button never ceases to amaze me ... LOL ... it also has cropping ... the only thing it does not have (which I wish it did) is putting text onto your picture.

Good luck to you ...

I love the old Adobe 2.0 home edition. It came with an old digital camera, I have tried the newer versions, and always to back to this one. I like that I can sharpen pictures, erase things, etc.

As a professional photographer, nothing can beat Adobe Photo Deluxe Home Edition for simplicity and use. Most of us received in as a bundled package with a scanner, color printer, or camera back before Adobe released Photoshop Elements.

You can find the Adobe Photo Deluxe programs on ebay for $15-25. I would strongly recommend using 4.0 (their latest version) if you are using Windows 98 or newer The earlier versions tend to have problems with installation onto newer Windows OS software.

I use the Photo Deluxe to do all of my auction photos since it is extremely easy to use and navigate through. I also use Photoshop 8.0 which is really more than what anyone would ever need for simple photo editing.

Hello,
I would be careful about using NEW photo editing programs. It seems that some are using them which I am told have embedded data. That is well and good however Windows 98 and older cannot load the JPEGs and instead lock up. As a seller that is not good.

I have brought this to the attention of Ebay but of course nothing is ever wrong with ebay and they blame it on non existing (to me) programs such as Norton 2003 etc.

The moral is if you are a seller make sure all can see your pictures FIRST then worry about sharp clarity etc, not the other way around.

I have an old 486 DX100 that is dedicated primarily to photo editing and uploading to Vendio while doubling as an email reader for suspicious emails. It is a Windows 3.1 machine and is immune to all the 32 bit viruses floating around. I have Compupic installed on it and it's probably one of the easiest and most flexible programs around. It's shareware with a 15 day free trial and very inexpensive to purchase. I have to admit, though, Irfanview is running a very close second and I find myself using it more and more all the time.
