I know some of you do not care about feedback. I am one of those people who does care because I am constantly having to prove myself to others. You know what I am talking about "you don't have a real job".

Is Ebay doing anything about Deadbeats leaving feedback after you file FVC? A bidder has plenty of time to send payment or provide proof or explaination.

Since I have not had a neg in over three years I responded with facts, not emotion.

Rant over. Thank you for listening.

What I think needs to happen is when you send your notice for the FVF the auction you are sending it for should automatically be deleted from the buyers feedback area. They should not be allowed to give you feedback on a deadbeat auction.

My one and only neg gave me one right after I filed FVF. I guess she didn't like the black mark to her record. Oh, well. Her little neg did me no harm and she got one right back. Of course, she deserved hers. She turned out to be a deadbeat! More sellers need to leave the negatives instead of being so afraid of getting one in return. It's a heads up to other sellers.

My newest policy is to pull the "buyers" contact information and post it ALL in the return feed back! Per e bays own mouth, this type of feed back SHALL be removed. Personal information such as their REAL,,,, Name or Phone number .

Well,,,,,let's SEE what e bay REALLY does.

Jack,
If the buyer leaves you a neg and you leave them one in return with all the personal info, will ebay remove your neg as well or just the one you left?

OR, if you leave it as a response, will they just remove the response or the whole kaboodle?

I like it, might there be any repercussions on you from kneejerkBay?

I am one of those people who does care because I am constantly having to prove myself to others. You know what I am talking about "you don't have a real job".

I think the chances of eBay reforming the feedback system are far less than the chances of you successfully teaching yourself not to care for the opinions of others.

Case in point. My mother. The sun rises and sets, the planets revolve around her firstborn.

I am not her firstborn.

I am the smart one, the straight-A student, the Honor Society inductee, the one who went to college before she finished high school. Hell, I'm the one who went to college, period.

I rarely visit home, but the last time, I am walking through downtown (all of four blocks) when my mother spies someone she knows. She grabs me (literally) and drags me over to this person. And she says,

"This is my daughter who makes $125,000 a year working on computers."

I was embarrassed and appalled, even though I should know better.

I only exist for her as bragging rights.

That was three years ago, before I quit to do eBay full-time. Now she doesn't bring me up any more, because I left the high-paying job.

On the rare occasions that I speak with her, she pumps me for information about how much money I'm making. We're all just fine here, Mom, thanks for asking.

Again, I ask, how is it a heads up to other sellers when you leave negative feedback? I don't look at the auctions I run, the bidders, and their bidding history. Maybe if we have 340 hours a day I might, but that isn't likely. I am MUCH more concerned NOT having a negative and giving a false impression to other BUYERS who keep me in business, not other sellers who really and truely don't factor in the equation. If I get a neg, so be it. I will file for fees back on deadbeats, and if they neg me, so be it. I won't stop filing because it helps my bottom line. I also try to provide good customer service, but won't do something like refund if delivery confirmation says delivered, even if that gets me a neg. I am not afraid of getting a neg, I just don't see a point in going out of my way to get one when the feedback game is set up so much against the seller! Once ebay changes feedback where a neg will disappear if the FVF stands, then I will leave feedback. Until then, it ain't gonna happen...

Hi all,

The issue of not allowing feedback from an NPB has been discussed many times.

I don't leave negs for NPB's. I just file for my fees and move on.

My thinking is if there is any change at all, NEITHER party should be able to leave feedback once an NPB is filed. That would prevent retaliatory negs against innocent buyers. Not fair to let the seller leave neg and not the buyer.

I like what Ebayvet says and pretty much agree. Perhaps if the FVF stands the seller should be allowed to leave feedback.

As always, JMHO.

Fluffy,

In a sense, I know the feeling. I'm the middle one. First and third can do no wrong. Maybe twice in fifty years I've spouted off and I'm still hearing about it.

A few years ago I went to an elderly couple's house to buy some things for ebay and they had a medium-sized white poodle that latched onto my leg. I tried to remove him but he'd just grab on even more. We were walking from the dining room to the living room and I kicked my leg, trying to boot him off and he got even more excited.

Sometimes I'm a bit shy in real life but I finally said to the couple that their poodle was on my leg but they just smiled and told him to be a good boy like they didn't know what he was doing and the lady finally made him sit over by the wall. But the dog started laughing at me and he had a weird little overbite that made him look even more perverted and then he came running at me again, happier than ever and started humping even faster. I finally made my way to the door and never went back to their house.

Back to the topic, I go along with what ebayvet says. And I never check my bidder's feedback unless they are slow paying.
