I need a supplier for magazine backing boards. I have a cheap source for the poly bags but my board source has disappeared.
Checked Bags Unlimited but they're WAY too high and I'm hoping someone has a cheaper supplier.

You can also try chip board from your local print shop supplier or print shop. This is the base layer that is used when padding paper.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Uline has chipboard pads in several sizes and two thicknesses. I have no idea if their price is competitive. The only time I bought chipboard I got it at a local printer, 8 1/2 x 11 sheets were 7 cents apiece.
I checked both listed sources and both are good for different things I need. I will be ordering from both of them.
Chipboard from printers isn't acid-free so it can accelerate the deterioration of older magazines. Some of these may take YEARS to sell so I want to do what I can to extend their lives.

No, I needed larger ones- for old sheet music of which I have several boxes- and handling at shows etc tears it all to hell,
bag and board makes it all seem nicer and
keeps it from becoming shopworn.
