Does anyone know how to find ENESCO ITALIA? All I find are Precious Moments. I have this cool ash tray that says on the back ENESCO ITALIA 300/5ITALY.
Thanks!

I don't know anything about them, but I do know doing searches on Enesco are very frustrating. You'd think all they did were Precious Moments, which I hate BTW. I have a couple only because my mother bought them for me. I personally wouldn't collect them. Too cutesy for me.

Finally! Someone else that hates Precious Moments! I've always thought it was wimpy sad drivel. Cheryl, I have always thought you were smart, now I know you are a genius!

I recently did some research on enesco. Nothing about it being Italian but it looks to be very possible. Here is what I found:

Enesco Group, Inc., a producer of fine gifts, collectibles and home décor accessories, is based in Itasca, Ill. A leader in the $10 billion gift and collectibles industry, the company has wholly-owned subsidiaries in Canada, Great Britain, Germany and France, as well as a network of licensed distributors strategically located throughout the world.

Originally based in Chicago, Enesco relocated its corporate offices to Elk Grove Village, Ill., in 1975 and to Itasca in 1995. The Company’s international showroom, warehouse and distribution facility remains in Elk Grove Village.

Enesco was founded in 1959 as a division of N. Shure Company. Following N. Shure’s sale to Butler Brothers, the import division reorganized as Enesco Corporation, formed from the phonic spellings of the prior parent company’s name initials – N.S. Co. The Company was sold three times, culminating in the 1983 sale to Stanhome, Inc., a Massachusetts-based company. In 1998, Stanhome Inc., was renamed to Enesco Group, Inc. In 2002, Enesco Group, Inc. became an Illinois corporation.

Today, the company’s award-winning Precious Moments® figurine collection is one of the top lines of collectibles throughout the world. Enesco also produces products from such notable licenses as Disney, Heartwood Creek ™, Cherished Teddies®, Nickelodeon and John Deere®, among others.

Cheryl, Meadowlark: Yay! I think Precious Moments are awful, insipid, sickeningly sentimental, etc., also. And have you noticed that most collectors of Precious Moments are the same? Having said that, I will also say that should I run into anything Precious Moments at a yard, garage or estate sale that is cheap, I would buy it to list on eBay - those sell well. Kind of scary that there are so many collectors out there, huh?

Speaking of scary... Has anyone been to the Precious Moments Inspiration Park in Carthage, Missouri? I understand that they have "life sized" Precious Moments figures. I find that truly scary! We passed it this summer on our way through Missouri but did not have time to stop.

OMG! An entire theme park for Precious Moments? Well ... that tells you why they sell well on eBay. I once worked with a young woman who was so nuts for Precious Moments (she had a way of saying "Precious Moments" that made it sound like "Your Majesty" or "Most Holy One." She also spent more money on the items than she could reasonably afford. These are not the only useless and tasteless items around. How about Beanie Babies? Or some of the overpriced teddy bear thingys? However, I guess we shouldn't deride these collectors, they keep eBay going.

My girls and I actually stopped at the Precious Moments Park years ago. It's very interesting and cute. They have a Chapel of paintings done by the artist specifically for parents who have lost a child. Some parents wrote to the artist and he has a huge mural with tons of little people representing those children who died. They have a fountain of life that is pretty cool to watch. At the end of the show Jesus walks towards you with his arms stretched out.(somehow projected) Very cool if you love the Lord. My girls loved it.
Thanks for all your help.
