I have a question, I hope it's not stupid and that someone can answer me.

I just opened an eBay store. I've listed some things in it in their appropriate catergory.

Now what i want to know is...if someone searchs for the item I'm selling do the store items show up in the search results from a basic search or does the buyer have to search in stores to find my stuff?

Thanks for the help!

The store listings show up below the other listings when you pull up a search. It will say other listings found in E-Bay stores. But if it is a item that there is a ton of auctions and buy it nows,I want to say you won't see it.

Okay thank you.

So it would be good to do some regular auctions of the same things and then put some in the store too. Don't rely completely on the store for everything.

Do people do that?

Also where do store items show up in categories?

Like if I was selling "Lamps" and put the items in the store under the "Lamps" category, would they show up as a regular listing?

Put up some regular auctions. Be sure to encourage the buyer to check out even more items in your store. I don't think most inexperienced buyers know that the store lsitings don't show up in searches.

Yes, if there are a lot of results for a search, the store listings don't even show up at the bottom of the page. I think the threshold is about 10 to 15 results, If I remember. Not even all the store listings show up if they are a number of them. The shopper must click on "show more".

The only reason I can figure eBay does this is that they want regular auctions to do most of the business so they can get the listing fees over and over? Maybe someone else can add more.

On your "Lamps" question, I think you mean "Do store items show up in the Lamps category when a person browses that category without using search"? If that is what you meant, I do not know. I don't think they show up, but I may be wrong.

My opinion is that most experienced shoppers use searches instead of browsing. Most categories have way to many items to browse through. They may go to a particular category, hoping to browse, see 15,000 items and decide to search more specifically in that category. So you'd better have some regular auctions running, and enough of them to funnel people to your store.

You can also use the Vendio gallery in the auction listings. The gallery scrolls and shows all your listings. Louise

Hello, More often than not your store items don't show up on the other listings below the search. Often times there is to much of that item for yours to be in the top 5 or 10. However...I have had great success selling out on my ebay store by putting a like in the custom listing text that goes at the bottom of all of my auctions. I have had some people do almost all of their buying out of the store. (I sell in a pretty small group of categories tho.) Also be sure to set your cross promotions that are shown at the bottom of each auction. I have sold a couple of really tuff items just by sticking them in manually in all of my auctions. Best of luck to you!!
