Dig out the can-opener, here be feeBay's response:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting eBay regarding this email.
While it may appear to be associated with or sent by eBay, it is not.
We strongly encourage you to report any email that claims an association
with eBay. Unfortunately, at this time we have been unable to link the
sender of this message to a registered account on our site. We are very
concerned about this problem and are working diligently to address the
situation. We are currently investigating the source of this email to
take further action.
We advise you to be very cautious of email messages that ask you to
submit information such as your credit card number or your email
password. eBay will never ask you for sensitive personal information
such as passwords, bank account or credit card numbers, Personal
Identification Numbers (PINs), or Social Security numbers in an email
itself. If you ever need to provide information to eBay please open a
new Web browser, type www.ebay.com, and click on the "site map" link
located at the top the page to access the eBay page you need.
At this time, you should consider blocking this email address through
your email program. Normally, this can be accomplished by setting mail
filters. Doing this should eliminate repeat emails from this address
entering your inbox. For instructions on setting up filters, you should
review the help section of your email program or contact your email
provider.
If you have any doubt about whether an email message is from eBay,
please forward it immediately to [email protected] and do not respond to it
or click on any of the links in the email message. Please do not change
the subject line or forward the email as an attachment.
Once again, thank you for alerting us to the spoof email you received.
Your vigilance helps us ensure that eBay remains a safe and vibrant
online marketplace.
Regards,

Hello,
20 years ago. I used to buy address labels from such outlets as Linn's, Stamps etc which were stamp Papers for those who were in this hobby. I attached them to a card I designed and mailed out say 1000. My return was about 5% or 50 per 1000 sent, Cost was postage bought at 80% face, the card at about .04 cents each and label cost of about 5 cents each.
In those days that was called business.
Now-days is done electronically and tho cheaper the return rate is lower (1-2%) primely because of poor first contact ad.
If I was interested in growing a business I'd buy this in a heart beat. Never mind the legally of the source. That is Sellers problem.
If you are serious about growing a business something along this line is a must (along with a web site)

Tom...Actually, I'm outraged at this. Ebay prohibits spidering their system. That's the reason Vendio no longer has the Universal Search feature. This jerk better sell a lot of those lists, because if Ebay catches up with him, he'll be spending a lot on the litigation and paying off the judgement they'll get against him. Hopefully, his ISP will sue him also. Many of the larger ones, such as AOL and Earthlink have already sued for and gotten millions in judgements against spammers who use their sites to launch this stuff.

I have a suspicion eBay has already been in touch with his ISP.
A year or so ago I was getting bombarded with Trojan attempts. When I tracked down the ISP I saw it was from a Charter subscriber. I called Charter and they took care of it VERY quickly - within hours I stopped getting the messages.
