How hard is it to buy direct from Chinese manufacturers from the USA? Also, do you have to get any special import license or annything like that?

I know a few people in the past have posted on this board that they buy from China and would like to know if there is anything special I need to know or is it just basically like buying from any other place?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tom...China is an enormous source. There is a Hong Kong directory as well as one for Singapore and Taiwan. There is some cost.
We use a letter of credit, a revocable letter of credit...after a few dealings, some will accept a bank check.
Costs for bulk purchases, such as a case of jewelry can be as low as .05 per item, and total cost with shipping (try to use air - although more expensive)...the total cost using air, plus duties, worked out to about .85cents.
There are some huge savings.
If you were to go to one of the big shows such as Las Vegas, Atlanta etc, you'll pay more. Since many of these companies hire a few front people to represent them.
Good luck
