Does anyone here have any selling experience
on Craigslist.org? I've yet to post there but am
considering it, especially for large, heavy items
for local pick-up only.

Yes I do. works out pretty well. Just don't list your phone number in the add and use their annonymous feature.

Thanks for the tips. I just put up a table on the site
and used their anonymous email reply feature.
I also didn't list my phone number in the ad
per your advice.

I like the listing price there - FREE.

I had 50 poker chips sets to sell sold 1/2 on ebay and the other half on cragslist.org to local folks. Worked out GREAT!!! I was able to move my stuff in 2 weeks where it would normally take me 4 to 6 wks to move.

that was my first experience and it was a good one. Since I have a business number I posted a phone # and business Email and it was good as most people contact me by phone.

I just slammed 6 things on their site. If e bay could only go back to making it THAT easy. Slam, bam, thank you ma'm, and I was done.

Now,,,,,,,,for action!

why is the annoymous thing important? what does it do or NOT do. I went annoy.

jack good luck. I found that most of the folks at least the ones that visit that site from here in Austin, were college students looking for a good deal. Worked out great for me.

If you go anno. your email address does not show up on the top of your listing, rather an annon. email shows up, if they send you an email it goes through craigslist email server and sends the message to you. That's my understanding of it.

Yehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! I am getting e mails like crazy and THAT'S Good....We have cash. (I love hearing that) I just heard from a friend they have a major radio adv. campaign running and seems EVERYONE is running to craigs and listing stuff......Set the price,,,sit back and wait for the e mails...they are locals,,E bay,,,,,,watch out. and they make it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to list.........snap! and yer done.

My thinking is just unload tons of crap and let others list it on e bay. Move it out FAST.

Their is a site in your area, check this out.

Thanks for posting this site.

If you are going to use craigslist. Be careful. There are alot of bad people that lurk there. Read all warnings that are written in red on the website. It will really be worth your while. Always use their email by using their annoymizer.

That's probably a good idea, Paloma ...

... but craigslist is a good idea to use, too. ... i wish *our* radio stations would do some promos of it like jackwebb's town is doing.

On craigslist, 'cashiers check' = scam.

You can forward the scam emails to [email protected]

Jack, when in doubt with a reply to a craigslist ad reply forward it to [email protected] first. They will tell you whether it is possibly fraudlent or atleast help you with it. That happened to me and within a few minutes I received a response from Craig himself telling me it was indeed a bogus fraudulent person. Send complete headers. What I was told is that they block the isp from where the fraud is coming from.
