My old mouse was having trouble working and I needed to launch my auctions. Bought a new one, Memorex cordless optical. Installed ok on one computer, but can't get it to work on another one that has all of my pictures, etc. for auctions. I have no cursor, so can't try to install drivers from new software, and am at desktop that says to make active desktop, right click, etc. Can't click on anything without cursor. Tried arrows, but can't select anything from that. Tried old mouse, non cordless one that used to work, tried a couple other mice, still not working....help, I need to get my auctions up before weekend, and don't know what to do.
Can anyone suggest something I might try?

Did you take you old mouse apart and clean it? If you take the bottom off and look inside there is a ball and 3 areas. Well dust collects in there and makes it impossible to use. In the areas is where the dust collects on the small oblong things that move. See if there is a ring of dust around any of them. Remove that dust and see what happens. It is hard to explain but really easy to do. I hope this works. Other than that I don't know. Good Luck

I feel your pain. I have an optical mouse that works on a USB port. It will not work on my USB ports no matter what I do. I finally gave up and bought an adapter. You could have a conflict somewhere.
