Whatcha talkin' about, Jack?

The eBay announcement I read didn't talk about additional fees. It said PayPal’s standard pricing in the US will remain at 2.9% + $0.30 (domestic transactions).

I didn't plow through every word but it sounds like people who have a higher volume will get a break on fees.

Edited to correct a typo - I typed bet when I shoulda typed get. Am I ready for Elko next month or what?

Lucy

I raised enough hell with e bay and nothing good came out of it so I figured hit on someone else for a spell. Pay Pal is close enough.

That's what they want it to look like but they are really just taking the lower fee away from the people that had it.
I have had the 2.2% rate for about 2 years and will probably almost always get the 2.9% rate once the 1 year grace period is up.
The only way they are giving better rates is for sellers receiving over $100,000 per month through paypal. How many of them do you think there are? I would bet very close to zero.

Hi Whatnot,

Well, I'm not likely to hit the payment level where I'll get a break. Somehow that doesn't surprise me or concern me. I do like PayPal and will continue to take it in my auctions.

PayPal is quick and easy. I'm convinced the higher bids because I do take PayPal more than offset the nominal cost.

You are too funny, Jack!!

Lucy, I am glad they are not raising fees. Really did not want to read that today!

It costs me more than that to accept a Credit Card in my Brick & Morter store. Hate it when someone wants to charge a 75 cent item and I end up paying half of that for the fees. Looking at it that way, I guess Pay Pal really isn't all THAT bad. Nothing like it was before ebay bought it, it was a really good deal then.

Does anybody else remember when PayPal was FREE? I knew it couldn't last, but it was great for a while!
