Hey Jack! Hi!
Okay, here's the week in summation...
Monday returned from son's wedding in Laguna. Everybody knows about that already.
Tuesday did absolutely nothing (well, I DID take a shower...)
Wednesday unpacked suitcase.
Thursday worked at the thrift in the afternoon.
Friday finally ran the dishwasher then worked at the thrift in the morning. Went to Carl's Jr. and had a big giant hamburger for lunch, came home and mopped the kitchen floor.

Craigslist.org....Lots of activities. like a newpaper ad. forum. Don't think you can ONLY list in YOUR immediate area, I just went to Hawaii,,,,,(in my mind) but listed there. you know those relisters we all have. Hit every city you desire. the word "choice auction" is unheard of. they are movin' up. and I plan on being on board. about 11 "items" going and e mail questions flowin'

Brake out the two buck chuck we're having a party.
Well only for a little while. Maxwell street days and I am selling for free. Dumping as much as I can. 4 years is a long time and I am sure there are many more that have more years than I but I doubt as old as I am. Couple of items a week is enough for me. Just enough to justify going to the estate sales.

I just had two auctions close tonight for two pieces of china in the same pattern. The last name of the winner of item # 1 is Johnson. The winner of item #2 lives in a town named Johnson. Whatcha want to bet that payment on both arrive on the same day, that I ship on the same day, and if I don't screw it up, FedEx will?

Hi Libra,
Two-Buck-Chuck is right here! Yes, it's a party. The eBay Outlook is much nicer now.
What's Maxwell street days? A town sale? I'd love to go to one of those. All we get here is worn-out clothes tossed on the lawn.
I'm going to start listing on eBay again in a couple of weeks. Then I'll be so busy I won't have time to hang out here! Just kidding... there's always time to check this board.
Gosh, the good selling time is just about here. I have a couple of hundred auctions ready to launch. Back to reality very soon. Emails, packing, shipping, all that good stuff.
I'm looking forward to it, it's been a long summer.
Jack, how does Craigslist work? Would you recommend it for smalls or just big stuff that's non-shippable?

Got stung on the butt by a yellowjacket. Owowowowowowow. Otherwise the week was somewhat boring because I'm not trying to sell on Ebay for a week or two and am BORED - and hooked, I suppose, addicted to selling on Ebay!

Lucy,
I've gotta stay away from those shakers. I wouldn't be able to see to make out the labels if I drive through a cloud of that dust. My wife will be out of town next week, so it'll just be me, the Rottweiler and the cat here, and I wouldn't trust either of them to print a label

Sparkz: Since you asked. . . . I was pruning some container plants, wearing shorts, and that damned bug stung me at the back top of my leg where leg meets butt. It was horrible. Lucy has already heard about my terrible ordeal.
My husband says I shouldn't have been wearing a bright yellow shirt--that those guys are attracted to yellow. Live and learn, but I've thrown out the shirt.
Now be a gentleman and never refer to this unfortunate incident again. I don't like to talk about body parts in public!

Hubby is right about the bright yellow. I found that out the hard way myself. Also, after shave lotion and cologne is not a good idea when working around those critters. They seem to come looking for me. I always spray with diazanon around the souse every spring when they start building nests. I have a pool and that seems to attract them.

If it makes ya feel any better Roadsmith, the first time I ever got stung by a wasp it was on the butt too lol....we had the front door open because the weather was so nice that day and it flew in . I lost track of where it went ,a couple hours later I went to the bedroom to watch TV and when I sat on the bed Wham !! and if that wasn't bad enough when I went outside to tell Jason about it ,I leaned against the hand rails right on another one so double whammy ouch ! On the plus side I now know I'm not allergic to bee stings
Found a couple of neat items at a yard sale today and that was the high light of my week ...ugh talk about boring. To hot to go out .

It is the weekend that the Tall ships are in port. How beautiful they are. There is a craft market down by Lake Michigan. A Roundeveaux (sp) in the park. I think Civil War
and down the main street is Maxwell street days where vendors set up their tables and sell their wares. It's a two day event but probably I will quit about noon on Sunday. I am no spring chicken anymore. I think the main street has 4 large main blocks and vendors on both sides. I have tons of jewelry. Nothing over 3 dollars. Scarfs, hankies. My husband has Playboy magazines, comics and I hope we sell it all so I can get some sanity to my life. I would like my closets back. Well all have a good weekend.
Time to turn my glass over until next time.

Lucy...You're not gonna start rubbing it in because we're going to have 102 degree weather this weekend and you and Sanmar over on the coast are only going to see 72 degrees, are you It's hard to believe that 2 towns 100 airline miles apart can have a 30 degree difference in weather temps.

Toasted: You have my sympathy. Two stings! 1,000% worse than one sting.
Sparkz: 100 air miles apart? 30-degree difference? Try living here in our lovely 6,000-ft. mountains, just a few miles over the tall peaks as the crow flies from Palm Springs. (PS's lights cause our skies to be not completely dark at night!) It might be 110 there; 80-90 here. The blessing is that, if people get tired of colder weather in the winter, they can drive to PS in 40 minutes and bask in the sun. It's an amazing difference.
That's California for you, isn't it! ~Adele

Correction: I want to give our magnificent mountains fulllll credit. The mountains are nearly 12,000 feet; our mountain town is at 6,000 feet! Just to set the record straight.
