The weekend isn't over with and today I found a Pez Dispenser from 1960, but not for resale. Got it for $5.00. Book value $30-$50. I just couldn't believe it. It was in the next booth to ours where we were selling. I started collecting a while ago and have some pretty expensive ones. Well not in todays market, but still worth a good dollar. I am saving them for when my granddaughter goes to college and then hopefully the old ones will be really valuable. I do have an original one. I stopped buying the new ones when they changed the patent number because the market is flooded with them. Now they will rest for 18 years.

What did everyone else find.

Pair of Blue Satin Glass Fenton praying children for $1.00. They have newsprint on them but I hope to be able to gently clean them. Also, around 50 canceled checks from 1869-1874 with 2 cent Internal Revenue tax stamps on them also for $1.00, the penmanship is awesome!

Picked up in Russia in 1990 - an inscribed horn bought it for 10 cents.

An awsome antique Bridge Lamp with "spun rope" pole and a ocean ship in the middle of the ornate bridge area. Found it on the shores of Otisco lake on a 20 mile garage sale even. Paid $2 @ 7am............Very lucky!

Ooo, Libra! ... which dispenser did you find?! ... I collect pez, too .. my favorite one is Uncle Sam ... he's so 'showy'. LOL

My only find so far this weekend is that opalescent swirl vase that good ol' Max helped me identify ... I'd gotten it for $4 and will hopefully get more than that for it. LOL ... We're going back to a final day estate sale today to pick up some more goodies, and to offer ebay consigning to them for some of the smalls they have left over. ... it is the estate of a gal who helped run tag sales, and she has a bazillion nice little things ... a lot of the bazillion are overpriced, so I know there will be a lot left over after today ...

We're also driving up to Conneaut and Vermilion today, to scope out a new venue for selling our nautical antiques (nautical just doesn't "go" real fast, inland LOL)

It was a not so great weekend for us. My husband had knee surgery last week but still wanted to go (die hard). I had to do the driving and well, that was fun!!!! But he over did it and so now I'm back to waiting on him hand and foot?? But he deserves it for all he does for me.
Got a couple of coffee table books for $1 - one golf and one roses (wonderful photos). A pair of Fire Boots for $5.00 - brand new.

Wish I had that nautical stuff for our cabin on the gulf of Mexico if we ever get it built?? I was going for the red, white and blue nautical with brass and copper accents. I think I have decorated it 3 times over but keep selling the stuff instead of storing it.

I found a cool 1950's bowling clock in the blond wood. I don't know if I'm going to sell it or not. Ken hates it, but I love it. Here it is:

Hi Guys! It was a beautiful Friday here in Central New York, and we got an early start and had a great yard sale day. A couple of the highlight items are an oil lamp from about 1860 for $5; an early pressed glass syrup pitcher, inverted thumprint pattern with applied handle for $7; Victorian toothbrush holder (goes with the pitcher and bowl sets) for $1; and a great paperweight with an antique map of Scotland for only 50 cents. Apart from the good picking, it was just a beautiful day to be out and about. Last week, I got a lot of five old picture frames for $10, and listed just one, which ends tonight and is already over $20. Hey, Micmic - how's it going down around Binghamton?

Libra, forgot to tell you about my Pez's.

two of my very first sales on ebay were pez dispenser that had been in hubbys junk drawere for ages, a clown and an elephant.

the elephant was marked disney. they sold for $86 and $97 and both went to Japan. definitely got our blood pumping since these items had been found in auction box lots over the years.

Sounds like everyone had a good Saturday and Sunday is just starting.

aintrich. I found Octupus. Orange head with black stem. Book says from 1960. I also have the rare bullwinkle. I picked that up at a garage sale quite a while ago for 75 cents. Another one I have is an original one. I went to a sale with my friend and they had some toys but she said they were all broken. I went in took a look and there was an original pez. I guess you never know when you will find those little critters. It's amazing you can still find those plastic dispensers still intact. I quite collecting when the pez company change the patent number this year.

rariffle- Lucky you and your sale. This is the fun of yard sales and estate sales. When people say there is only junk, well their maybe but hiding somewhere is that treasure.

Cheryl ... My dad would LOVE that clock. He was a very good bowler before his accident. Although he can't bowl anymore, he still watches the pros bowl on TV and hopes to take my daughter bowling some day. If you decide to put it up for auction, could you let me know?

Diane

I just put it up. I think you know how to find my auctions?

My grandfather and grandmother were both terrific bowlers. They bowled in many leagues. At one time I bowled a lot. I bowled on 10-pin Challenge and Bowling for Dollars (ya, that's about what I won, LOL). I haven't picked up a bowling ball in years!!!!!!

Yeppers Libra! ...here is an Octopus pez ending in a few minutes ... great find! ... my collection is sprawled out across my dining room wall in a home-made wooden rack ... it is so colorful (that's what I like about them) ... I even buy the new ones because that's just more (affordable) color to add to my display. LOL ...

Rummages have been generally bad this summer, too many pickers, not enough "good stuff". However, Saturday I picked up a 15 piece Czech cannister set with damage to some pieces for $10.00. It will be mall fodder as it would be way too much trouble to describe every piece for eBay. Should still bring $125.00.
Also a very nice Silhouette picture for $3.00, converted oil lamp with no damage to the lamp $6.00, 3 boxes of old beer and soda bottles $24.00.
One of my better week-ends.

Just returned from vacation this week so have been away from the fray for a couple of weeks....

Estate sale yesterday - picked up an Art Deco compact from 1934 Chicago World's Fair for $8.00.

Took the family to the "Big Hole in the Ground" The Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Escalante and Viva Las Vegas.

Forgot how peaceful and calm I could be with no Ebay Elephant on my back. LOL.

Talk about beautiful! Took tons of photos. Classic comment by the teens after second day - OK I'm over looking at rocks. Can we do something else???? Made a bet with them that when they get to be my age they'll be telling their kids that this was one of the most memorable and exciting trips they ever went on....

I found it, Cheryl. I placed a bid on it. Hopefully it won't go too high (or should I say it will go high for your sake).

Thanks. I know my dad would love this.

Thanks aintrich that is exactly the one I bought. I did have mine in a hutch with some extra pieces like a pez change tray, truck, magnets but since I moved it all had t be taken down. Right now to tired to put it back. I do want to tell you I have two giant pez's Mickey, which my friend took out of the garbage at O'hare Field and the other the clown which I bought at our local antique mall for $9.95. Those are really neet but I want to stay away from the new stuff now. There is a new bunch all the time. I saw Bob the builder the other day at walmart and one with an ant, cute but I don't think for me. Now if they had sponge bob my granddaughter would go nuts.

Micmic - we were in Vernon (where Vernon Downs race track is.) They were having a town wide yard sale. Hardly any driving at all! Route 20 has some really lovely scenery, looks like Wales. Trouble is, out there they are familiar with the Bouckville antique show and price accordingly. I will have to keep my eyes open for that Toyota. We have a huge Ford E-350 van, maroon. I remember that you once said you went to Sherrill to snowmobile. Well, they have great sales too!

Earthmum, souds like fun....two summers ago my wife and I were at a bed & brkfst in Rutland Vermont. I got her up at 7am, rushed to the local Hessmart, purcheased a street map and a newspaper and hit some excellent garage sales. Infact, I scored an Atari "Earthworld, Waterworld" game. One single game that plays on the 2600 and sold it for $255!! It still stands in my top 5.

Did you do the Homer to Montezuma route 80 sale last weekend? I am sure we will cross paths one of these times....I am always alone as my wife refuses to go with me anymore because she says I am a "Psycho" and dosent like my "in-and-out" sale after sale style! She likes to goof around and holds me up...LOL

I love Sponge Bob!!! How cute! Today, while cleaning out an old house, I found: an antique stained glass window, an antique doorknocker, an antique cedar chest and a steamer trunk, some very old books, glass doorknobs, porcelain faucet and handles, ceramic coffee pot and watering can and other odds and ends. All this and all I had to pay for it was 8 hours of back breaking labor. LOL! The stained glass window made it worth the labor. It's a 110 year old summer home sitting on Lake Erie so you know whoever originally owned it had mega bucks!

Longtime....lol!!
I have been on a spedie diet, Chicken and Pork. My doctor is gonna give me hell when I show up this fall 15lbs over last years weight! The Speedie fest just concluded, it was a great weekend, Kansas performed and Hulk Hogan was there! We are celebrety starved here in Binghamton so it was a big deal.

You know they are quite simple to make if ya really have a hankering for some. Just cube up some chicken or pork, use Vinegar as a base, mixed with some Italian dressing or your favoriate marinade, soak for 2-3 days and your good to go.....If you want I can send you a few bottles of lupo's Spedie marinade, its on every shelf in town! That will save you all the trouble and it delicious...
