Hi all,
A lot of our EO friends are in Florida. Niel35, Glassgrl, Dacreson, DrDolittle, Bizzycrocheting, Lattefor2, Tomwiii and Gtootie is nearby in Louisiana.
My grandchildren are in Pensacola.
I heard from Diane (Bizzy) a while ago. She said she was watching the weather very closely and would know more tomorrow as to how hard she might get hit, if at all. But if we don't hear from her for a little bit, it's because power is down.
Hopefully Bonnie and Clyde (oops - Charlie) will pass them by and all will be just fine.

It might be a good idea to add a note to your auctions explaining that communications with winning bidders may be delayed a few days if the power goes down.

sparkz -- That's a good idea. How do I put in in the auctions that are already running? Do I have to do it manually? I do have it in my listing that I live in Miami, Florida, so I hope that bidders will see that.

Give Craigslist.org a try. List anywhere. Take a L@@K see for yourself. Not just for local stuff. You can still ship.

Hi Diane,
Good to see you!
I wonder if the Vendio Gallery tag-line would work? Then it would show in all the listings and could be changed later on.
Otherwise I think you'd have to add it through an eBay Revise.
Maybe someone else will have some ideas. Pretty early for me to be thinking right now, first cup of coffee and all.

I hope everyone down south fares well with the two storms - you are certainly in my thoughts... I just wish the storms would make a sharp turn and go back out to sea! I am in SC, so think it would be great to see the storms go back to sea...
Bizzy - do you have an "about me" page? You could put a message there about the hurricanes. I have one, and change the message from time to time about new items, sales, etc., and have quite a few people read mine. Just a thought
Keep safe

See at vrane.com, the little utility called "power adder" ... you can add to the item description of ALL of your auctions, all at once.
I've used that feature several times over the years, if an emergency came up.

Hi all thanks for all your thoughts. I am on the East coast mid state so far it looks like the poor west coast people are getting a back to back. My thoughts are with you. For some reason my husband feels that Charlie is going to turn around and go up the east coast when it hits the keys. This is the first time I have ever seen him act this way during the weather reports. He told me that the predictions on this one bother him.
Tom, we just saw on TV that Jacksonville had a bad tornado I hope you & Ralphie are OK.

My best friend is in Tallahassee and though the radar made that area look real bad, he said nothing major has come their way. My mom lives in Jacksonville, so I hope all is good. I need to call her now and check in.

Bonnie was nothing - no wind, just drizzling rain.
I still have my eye on Charlie just in case. There was that one hurricane that stopped and circled and went where they didn't predict it to.

We don't get hurricanes here in Ohio, but we do get the aftermath - cold and rain. We have so few hot days through the year that losing even a week's worth is a big deal! It's only going to be in the 60's tomorrow - 20 below normal.
At any rate, best of luck to everyone in the south. My dad lives in Port Charlotte on the Gulf.

Want to see something scary? Click on this link. When the page opens, click on the red civil emergency link. Read all the messages, especially the last one that describes what this hurricane can be expected to do:

Makes me glad I live in California. I won't even complain about the 105 degree day we had today.

Well, we had some thunderstorms last night, but other than some winds, we're ok in Miami. Charley is really scarey and my thoughts are prayers are with those on the west coast that will get clobbered by it. I hope those that are in evacuation zones have gotten out. I've learned a very good lesson with Andrew and will NEVER stay for a category 3 storm.

I'm in the Daytona Beach area and we are in the calm before the storm. It's dark out, and not a breeze or sound in the air. This part is spookier than the actual storm. Even the dogs are acting nervous.

The church that is in front of that tornado is just behind my brother in-laws house. They are all OK but it was just too close!!
Off to get some more supplies if there are any left.

Supplies. Forget buying a bunch of bottled water, that's the first thing they truck in - that and ice. After Opal within hours you could go to any grocery store parking lot and pick up all you needed free.
What you want to have on hand is plastic for your roof and a generator.

Jacksonville won't get the worst of it for sure but we may be without power. We have a generator and got cans of gas last night. We have some of those water cooler bottles so I will just fill a few of those up.
I think I'm about ready now and just pray for the folks down south.

God Bless everyone in Fla. right now. Fort Myers looks like the point of impact. You are in our prayers for a safe outcome. They've started called for a voluntary evacuation here in Beaufort S.C. were dragging our feet on whether to leave or stay.

Well, Tallahassee escaped the first. I have several friends in Tallahassee.
Unfortunately, my mother lives in Orange Park, just outside of Jacksonville and my sister and her family live near Mandarin, south of Jacksonville as well. I also have relatives in Orlando, and up in Kings Bay Georgia. Plus all of my friends scattered across Florida.
I am trying to see what everyone is doing about the storm right now.

Toasted, I thought of you when they announced the evacuations - unfortunately I think they will move from voluntary to mandatory. Stay safe!

BZZZZZZZ! ZAP! POW!
Physically unplug your computer and other electronics if you are in the storm locale. Batten the hatches and get out of Dodge, er, Ft. Meyers.
