I have two china pieces that I can't locate the pattern names. On the Noritake pieces there are labels written "Country Cottage" but replacements.com doesn't list that name. They are occupied Japan so they are old. Also, the second piece is Limoge but I can't remember what company the beehive stands for and I've never seen the BMOEM before. Any help from the china experts is greatly appreciated. I'm googled out.

PS. Speaking of china experts, where is Fluffy. I hope she didn't get run over by a car or something.

I have a U.S. designed Noritake with a similar pattern. Mine is labeled "Elvira" with a couple of numbers. I don't know anything about china but I was surprised by the similarity of yours and mine.

Your LIMOGES is done by:

PM de Mavaleix

http://www.sd-limoges.com/sold/bwl_1041.html

Note the studio PM de M extra backstamp!

According to cherishedclutter in a 9/03 thread here:

"The letters are actually PM DE M. That makes it date between 1908 and 1914. It was the company of Paul Maurice Mavaleix. The book says the first letter looks like a B, but there is really just a fancy loop between the P and the M. The letters stand for Mavaleix's name."

Thanks everyone, and Ralphie! I will check both out and see. Replacements has about 400 patterns listed and they don't seperate by occupied. Maybe someone out there will know the name.

Paws,

The backstamp dates the Noritake to 1949.

I checked the Replacements book I have on Noritake - all of the Smooth Rim Shape; Gold Trim; Floral; Squiggly Verge; No Middle Design -- and can't seem to locate the pattern.

Thanks Biz...........

The date will help in the description. I have 21 pieces of it and will list as a lot I guess. They are a consignment item but the owner bought them from a guy whose mother had an antique store. The woman is deceased so we can't ask her anything. Besides she is the one who marked them Country Cottage so what does she know.

Thanks again for the info!

Hello,
Try Camelot on the Noritake...I'm not positive though, but it looks similiar.

Tillie,

Good suggestion, however, not it. Noritake has two patterns of Camelot - 6000 and 3031. Both have a large blue section in the decoration around the edge and this one doesn't.

I think it's going to end up as a Mystery pattern.

Wonder what Sanmar thinks?
