Sharebuilder.com charges $4.00 per stock order purchase. They allow you to purchase partial shares and you can set up a regular purchase schedule, once a week, twice a month ect. You can also make just a one time purchase. Say you only have $50.00 to spend, but you want to invest in ebay stock, which is selling right now for $84.87. With Sharebuilder.com and your $50.00 you can purchase about 1/2 a share ($50.00-$4.00). Sharebuilder.com is a good way to purchase stock if 1. You don't have bunch of money to invest 2. You want to start investing. 3.You know what stock you want to purchase. I would recommend opening an account directly with Sharebuilder.com rather then via way of ebay. You can purchase other stocks, not just ebays. I'm not sure if you'd be able to do that if you went through ebay. I don't use Sharebuilder.com myself, but a friend does and he seems happy with them. I prefer Ameritrade myself.
