My brother, bless him, gave me this piece of Imperial Jade. It's just a gorgeous perfect stone. It's 3/4" long and 1/4" wide and curved (like a fingernail). I want to have a piece of jewelry made for it, but I'm not quite sure which way to go. I'd like a pendant mixed with another stone. Any suggestions as to what the other stone should be or what style I should be looking at? I'm no good at this, but I know there are those of you out there that are. I was looking at some pieces on eBay for ideas, but I didn't really see anything that caught my eye. The picture is to show you the shape. It reminds me of a fake fingernail.

What a pretty stone! I love emerald and diamonds. I'm no designer and certainly not an artist, but diamonds go with everything!
Good luck and let us know what you decide.

that really IS a pretty stone, Cheryl! ... just make sure if you turn it into a pendant, that the chain is long enough to have the jade, lay sexily, on your jugular notch.

It's really pretty - I too love jade.
I agree with the others
I think a pendant would be lovely - with lots of gold filigree. If you want other stones diamonds or white opals would both be great.
Have you checked with you local jeweler. I have one here (Jax, FL) who does her own designs and really makes some wonderful things. She uses most diamonds. I love her favorite saying "If you can pick your hand up - you aren't wearing enough diamonds"
Don't forget to post an after photo!!

I'm a pretty informal person, and diamonds with this would stop me from wearing it often--for everyday events, etc. I've always loved the wrapped-wire look, and gold isn't becoming on me, so if it were my piece I'd get a jeweler to wrap the pendant sparingly with silver or copper wire, making sure most of the jade isn't obscured.

I was thinking even using black onyx to maybe surround the jade? Of course, Gold would be in order.

Hey Cheryl-I design and sell my own jewelry. I would start at what type of metal do you like-Gold or Silver-i would use it as a pendant-With silver I like rose quartz or lemon quartz with green jade-with gold I love to use garnet or amethyst. Hope this helps.

Wow, I never thought of lemon or rose quartz. I think I may go with one of those. Great idea! Thanks!
