I remember readin about that here. Well,,, It JUST happened to me. Remembering really nothing from the thread but just KNOWING it was yet ANOTHER stupidly INSANE enhancement of e bay, I backed that sucker up and went forward again and it TOOK! Where oh WHERE DO they come up with this scare the CRAP out you you junk! !!!!!!! That account is at LEAST 2 years old. Reached my selling limit, Oh sure I have.

Had I not remembered reading something about that here I would, I am sure, be going throught ALL kinds of crapola HOOPS.

E bay, get your head out of your azz.

Have a wonderful Holiday evening.

Jack,
Thanks for posting that. I know this subject comes up occasionally and then the problem suddenly disappears. It sounds like a glitch where established sellers are getting a message intended for newby sellers who are (or used to be) allowed to incur a $15.00 balance before having to go through the credit card process. It was designed to let a newby test the water with one or two listings. I don't know if they still have that program, but the message is almost identical to the one they used to send out.

Yeah, just got one last night as well. Been selling since May '99, and this is the first time I've ever seen something like this. AND...I've only got 14 auctions running!

Koto1,
At the time you and I started selling, credit cards were not required to open a seller's account. We had the option of paying our fees monthly with money orders and as well as I remember, personal checks. Since we got "grandfathered " in before the new rules requiring credit cards, that message is probably loaded into our accounts. I imagine there are still sellers who pay their monthly fees via money orders, and Ebay has set some type of limits on them. That message probably got triggered by mistake. Ebay is tinkering with system enhancements again, and there are several screwy things happening on the site.

I've been on eBay since 98. Somewhere down the line I did put a credit card on file. However, a couple of years ago I maxed out the card and stopped using it and the others I had. I always paid eBay all through the month with my debit card or my PayPal debit card. I just made sure I had the last month paid before the next billing on the 15th so it was never past due.

Then last week I got the e-mail that I was over my limit. I haven't been able to list since then. I went to live help and they said I had to pay the whole thing before I can list. So, now I'm stuck. I can't list so I can't make any money. I don't have enough to pay the whole thing. I could have if I could have kept selling until the 15th.

I wrote customer service today, but I haven't heard back from them.

Maybe Ralphie will give me a loan.

Well go ahead & #*!@. It won't do you any good. If you have Credit Card up front, you will never have this proble. I have been on eBay since 1/14/98 & have never had any problem.

I got one of those last week and it was because I hadn't updated the expiration date on my cc.

Of course one of my other accounts I was billed 8 times 9.99 for my store on 8/1/04 and can't seem to get ebay to credit that one so I'm officially *account on hold* right now.

Hey, guess what sanmar...my CC IS UP FRONT, and the expiration date isn't an issue either. This is the first time I received this message as well, so don't ASSUME you know what the problem is.

I was able to list auctions once again, without a problem, the very next time I tried. So the problem is what was stated above...Ebay monkeying around again with the site.
