All my inventory is in my half.com account, but when I click on the listing for each book, it either says "item no longer available" or fails to show ANY sellers for the books.
What's going on?
Has this happened to anyone else?

Not sure if it's happened way in the past to me, but I've always found Half.com hard to move around in. They have an 800 number--800-545-9857--for customer service.
I hadn't listed any books on Half.com for months but tentatively tried a few this month and have sold several of them, happily. I may mosey back to Half in full force, one of these days!

Thanks for the phone number roadsmith.
Everything is back to "normal" now.
Half is closing down on Oct. 14, so you might not want to list in "full force" at half. I'm working on moving my inventory to other venues.

Did you try calling them? Just curious to know if they could help, that way.
They've been saying they're closing down Oct. 14th but some of the folks here don't think that will happen. I'm not listing more than a dozen at most books with them until we know for sure.

I am curious when I hear this place and that place is closing down,,,,,why do they HAVE to close down? I mean it's not like a REAL store where employees are let go and the building is actually vacated. Ah! but perhaps it really means there is really no support people if there are problems? Hmmm,,,does this sound like a Company we ALL know only too well? No support people.
kind of like yelling inside a big old empty warehouse. HELP! Silence,,,,,,,So this is how they go out of business nobody is there. no body answers the phone,no body replies back to e mails, No customer support.
Hmmmm, makes sense now. Gee, who's going out of business next? It may be later than we think.
Just my thoughts, do they count? Who knows and who's counting anyway
AH! perhaps the patients are running the asylum?

There were some huge discussions here and elsewhere about Half.com in the last few months. Back in the winter or early spring, it was announced that Half.com would be closing I think in June or July??? Then they extended it. Hence, distrust that they really intend to close it down. It ain't over until the Fat Lady sings.

I never messed with Half.com.
Was just looking at Ebay and saw Half Zone.
Is that the same thing you are talking about?

The original impression I got when Ebay purchased Half.com was that they would move all books off Ebay to Half. I was hoping they would go a step further and move ALL media, cd's, dvd's, videotapes, software, records, etc over there and create a high class niche site, at the same time eliminating those categories from Ebay to make the site search more manageable. As it turns out, it looks like the plan all along was to simply eliminate a competitor.

I think this time around it will go away in October. Even if it doesn't, I have already changed my strategy for a post half.com world...It allowed me the chance to use amazon, which really has been much, much better than I expected it would be. Ebay stores have also worked well for me. In the end, it looks like ebay will be getting less $$ from me than before. I wonder if they will regret this, guess we may never know. I think half was really a good idea, and though the concept is still alive with amazon, I would like to see another company give it a try.
