I only take Pay Pal, credit cards directly or Money order. I cannot figure out what this guy is talking about. Is Pay Pal having problems? I received the email from my bidder.
********************************************
I've been trying to pay for this item for the past half-hour. I've been using ebay for years, and have NEVER had this sort of trouble before. On the item page you claim you prefer paypal, but when I proceed with payment, I get directed to this third party site which requires me to register and fill out all my info (which paypal already has). Then it wouldn't allow me to fill in a credit card number, so I gave up. I returned later and clicked the PAY NOW button on the ebay invoice email. It only asked for an email address, which I filled-out, yet it kept claiming I "didn't fill out all info" (and it gave me no option to add any other info!) This new third party payment service is defective, has wasted my time, and is a huge pain in the you-know-what. And unless you have a way to accept my payment without wasting any more of my time, it will cost you this sale. I recommend you return to the original paypal service
******************************************
I send him an invoice manually from Pay Pal and gave him the instructions if he wants to pay by credit card directly. I sold a couple of this last week and over the weekend with no problems.

No, I think ebay is having trouble. (Again) I had 2 of my regular customers buy stuff over the weekend and I sent an invoice as usual and both of them wrote me and asked if they were now required to pay the sales tax as the invoice stated. Neither of these people are in my state or even in the same region of the country as me so... Here we go again, one more "Improvement" that really slows things down and ticks off the customers.

Some weeks ago I was getting a messesage that I was not the winning bidder when I tried to pay with PayPal. Has not happened for awile. Do you use Venio check out? If so I think a lot of people (me for instance) think Vendio check out is a pain.

I use Vendio checkout. I take direct credit cards and I don't want to fool with phone calls and all the e-mails to get the cc info. And I like doing the copy and paste on the address they have typed in when shipping.
I have used it for at least a couple of years. Only 2 out of every 100 customers complain. And those are the ones that will look for something to complain about.
Some people say they will skip an auction with a checkout, but it hasn't hurt my business any that I can tell.

Close to 50% of my buyers complained about the Vendio checkout.
I sure didn't use it long.

I've seen other sellers post the same thing, but I don't have any problems. Except from the people who you know are going to be a problem anyway.
The few that do complain, get a friendly explanation from the sellers point of view. I explain about the buyers who want to use their credit cards. And the ones who buy during what is the middle of the night here or while I'm at work or out and don't want to wait for an invoice. I don't mention the part about buyers who have to wait sometimes don't pay.
I also have a lot of sales and the checkout makes it easier for me to keep it all organized. Therefore, they get there packages in a more timely and accurate manner. I also don't have to print out all of that info. That keeps me from being inundated with paper and saves me the cost of the paper and ink. A savings that I pass on to them.
By the time I'm through they think I'm an efficient and professional seller. Some have even asked my advise on setting up their own store. Who would have ever thought it?
The trick is to make them believe you know what you are talking about and that they are stupid to question your system, without coming out and saying it. Or leaving the impression you think they are stupid.

Bingo. He just wrote me and explained he didn't know what Vendio was and didn't want to fill it out.
I rarely have a complaint about Vendio.
I do not understand why people have a problem with check out. It only takes a second to fill out. I know that the address I supplied is the correct address.

I have found that some of these customers are using two e-mail addresses.
And sometimes eBay does not sent the info to Vendio before the customer tries to checkout.

Explain that is just a checkout and they are not signing up for anything. You prefer that they type in their info to eliminate any errors when preparing the shipping label as you do a copy and paste of what they have entered.
This is also a good way to cover your butt, if they give you a wrong box or house number and that sort of thing.

I send all my eMails with one click of a button on my auction management program, and the winning bidder's name and address is automatically filled in when they win. I just repeat this address in my winning bidder's notice and ask them to confirm it. I send a personalized WBN, a payment received, an item shipped , and a thank you for the purchase eMail when the transaction is complete. All with the click of a button. Buyers would much rather get a personalized winning bidder's notice than a Vendio or any other check-out notice.

You go into Vendio and write your own default e-mails that are personal.
I do everything you do and don't have to click anything. It's all done for me. Some of my customers don't have a clue that I'm not typing out each and every one of those e-mails.
You are paying for this system. Why don't you use it for every thing you can get out of it? Same yourself a whole lot of time and work.
I admit it's not perfect all the time. It also takes some time to get the system the way you want it. I still make changes as other things change. But you can make this system work if you are willing to make the effort.
I would have given up a long time ago if I had to do everything by hand. All I have to do now is put the packages together and print the postage and shipping label on Endicia. I don't even have to figure the postage, except for International buyers. When I set up the item, I put in the weight and the checkout figures the postage. If the PO had package pick up here, I would have it made.

Gtootie: I just explained that I am doing the same thing with personalized eMails. I fully well know that you can personalize eMails on Vendio. Again, my reason is that my buyers either did not like or refused to use the Vendio Check-out system. And the reason that I am still on the Vendio system is that I have just closed out my eBay items and am waiting till my Vendio subscription runs out. My auction management program allows me to put my non eBay dealers site ads on.
