I took the plunge and bought a new camera. A Mavica-CD350. I have been using a HP215 for idiots and am sort of confused with the set up instructions. Any help or tips would help!

Thanks

I'm bumping this up in hopes someone can help you. I have a SonyMavica 73, an older one, so probably can't. If all else fails, can you go back to the shop where you bought it and get them to help you?

Turn the booklet over/upside down.
To reveal the English instructions.

I have a Mavica 75 and wouldn't give it up for the world.

This might seem obvious, but did you read the manual? Oh, wait. Sorry. I guess I should read your post better. I would re-read the manual and then just start using it. Not like there is film in it. Once you figure it out, you can delete the pictures. If it is like our older models, simply put in the floppy disc, turn it on. Point and shoot.

Stone:

She bought the CD Version.
May be a lot different from what we use.

But I bet it's just as easy to use.

What is it about the set-up instructions that you find confusing?

Post an excerpt here and perhaps we can help.

have you called sony or go online to their site??
all these cameras manuals are hard to understand, you have to be patient and proceed slowly.
try the simple options first

Thanks for your help!!

Got the camera figured out it's the software that's got me confused. I have been doing things the same way for years and it worked.
Love reading the posts! Thanks again!

Hello Lollypop,

I figured out how to operate the camera. My trouble is finding a simple way in simple language to do this after the photo's are loaded to the computer. I am loading the pic's directly onto my computer once they are there I want to do this:
1. Put all the pic's together in {1} file.
2. Edit all the pic's
3. Pick up the pic's from file when loading auctions.
I know it's easy I'm just not getting something.

Also could you recommend setting for the camera to photo inside for ebay?

Thanks for any help!

I just bought a new camera a couple of months ago, an Olympus C765 Ultra Zoom. I found that the little operators manual that comes with it is useless, however, there is a more informative manual included on the software CD that came with the camera. I printed the entire manual, 103 pages and bought a 3-ring binder just for the manual.

It is very informative about how to operate the camera and all of the functions of the software and it inludes illustrations. So my advice to you is to put that little manual that came with the camera aside and print the manual that is on the software CD. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah one more thing, go buy a new printer cartridge and a ream of paper because if you print the manual off of the software CD, you are going to need it.

I forgot to add that you can also print the Spanish, Chinese, German and French instructions also and these might come in handy if you ever travel to any of these countries.

What operating system are you using on your computer? Do you have photo editing software or did it come with the camera? I can answer 1 and 3 above if you are using XP. I use software that came with my daughter's digital camera for photo editing (I don't do any complicated editing, just crop a scan)

Yellowstone:
I bought the Olympus 750 Ultra Zoom a few months back, and have barely used it. I found it much more complicated to set up for specific uses than my old Mavica FD90. I'm still using the Mavica every day.
You're right about the skimpy manual that comes with the camera, it's almost worthless.

Hello,

I am using the software that came with this camera. ImageMixer Ver.1.5. for Sony & PTP Manager. My system is Windows/Me.
I used my old photo editing on a batch but I had to do them one at a time! Big pain.
I did print out manual but something simple is just not sinking in!

Thanks All!

Sorry I can't help with Windows ME. It's very easy to work with images in XP. I wasn't in the ebay biz when I used windows 98.

One thing that I really like about the Olympus C765 Ultra Zoom is that there is a menu for saving settings, like extreme macro settings etc. I can't tell you at this red hot moment just how many different settings that I can save without reading my manual but I think it's about a dozen. So what this means is that once you have a specific setting set on the camera, one that you know you will use again, you can save it for future use.

Of course you are right but it sounds like Isadoras1000 might be having problems either with the program, in which case I would advise that she uininstalls it and then reinstall it. This might help. Or she is having a technical problem with the instructions in the manual, in which case I advise that she looks on the camera manufacturers website and if the answer is not there then call their tech support. Otherwise, I believe in order to give an informed answer one would have to have the same operating system, camera and software as she or have first hand knowledge about the proper operations of this camera and software. Good luck.

Ed to add; I wish I could help more.
