Does anyone know if XP servicepack 2 has to be installed first before attempting to install Windows .Net Framework 1.0 Servicepack 3. Waiting for CD for XP 2 but thought I would try downloading XP3 which failed midway through download although 2 other small upgrades included were sucessfull.

If the "3" was released AFTER SP2 was released, then you should probably wait until ye instal SP2 before installing "3" ???

I downloaded SP 2 about a month ago. I think it took about 2 hours to install. I did it at night while I watched the Olympics

Sanmar - You probably have Cable. I have to use the CD I ordered when it arrives to install XP2 and figure that perhaps I can then download 3. Would seem logical that since 3 comes after 2,XP2 must be installed first. Just wanted to make sure my thinking was correct.

Just try again.
It will only download what is needed.
I downloaded XP2 it took 10 minutes.
Haven't heard of the 3 yet.

I'm not saying that my experience is typical, but after installing SP2 I had to roll it back, reinstall XP, reinstall MS office twice, remove Norton Internet Security, reinstall some DLLs, etc... With SP2, who needs viruses?
Finally got internet access back and MS Outlook working again.
For what it's worth, my PC is all of 2 months old.

I am going to wait before doung the SP2 upgrade--from what I've been reading, it can cause huge proglems with some softwares installed on your PC. When they get the bugs out of it, then I'll bite.
