Okay, I know I am asking for it but...here goes. I was upstairs in my store today and found a whole box full of movie posters that I had gotten when the video rental store here closed a few years ago. Most of them have a name written on the back identifying the movie and/or someone's name. They have all been rolled up for storage. Some are in really nice condition and others have folded over edges and a couple of them have been rolled and flattened. My question is: Should I try selling them one at a time and for how much or should I just make a list and run the whole box full on an auction?? (there are approximately 100 posters in this box.) Opinions??

I think you'd probably be better off listing them separately only because people are interested in certain movies or movie stars -- unless you find a movie poster buff collector, but I dont know if thats real common. But maybe you might find somebody just now opening a video store or something? Kids in a dorm room? Lol? How much they go for you should probably scout around ebay and see what they're doing.

I sell music and memorabilia and if it was me I would first investigate some of the titles on ebay to see if you see matches- you'll be able to gauge the demand for these. Are they big titles? Or are they all the straight-to-video variety? I would say to pull out the prime titles and maybe make groups of 4 or 5 of the lesser ones. You'll want to first gauge what the average going price seems to be for video posters. If it's under $10.00 each, maybe it's not worth your time to do them all separately. But I would say from my experience that as a general rule you'll probably get more money for separates than you will as a whole. You can buy poster tubes relatively inexpensively so they're easy to pack.
I've sold a few video posters that I got from my friend who works at an agency and I was surprised to see what some of the prices were. I had good luck selling them as Buy It Nows, too. For instance, stuff with Ashton Kutcher seemed to do well... you know, teenagers I guess.
So, after all of this rambliing, I would say you should investigate and then gauge your time as a cost factor. You'd be surprised how it could all add up, though; I certainly was.

i have a box too.
Unless they are vintage great movies ,they aint worth much.
In fact do a search you shall see.
condition is important,no crinkle, wrinkle, rip or tear.
original posters such as gone with the wind, king kong, hud, etc are sought after.
